When someone does not obtain success with their interests, talents, or personality until later in their lives, we say they are a late bloomer.
These flowers are blooming late due to the longer winter.
I started collecting these bottle lids from the Tiptree honey that we buy, some time ago because of those little words or idioms on them! So far, I have noticed seven different lids but maybe there are more?
I was aiming to use them someday on Flickr and then, lo and behold, that day comes today in the theme of ‘Words’ for the group ‘Smile on Saturday!’

The idiom "storm in a teacup" refers to a small event that causes a lot of fuss - or "much fuss about nothing". imagine a glass of water?
The expression "A storm in a teacup" goes back to the French writer Montesquieu. In Honoré de Balzac's story "The Cure of Tours" in the 18th century, Montesquieu described the political unrest in the small state of San Marino as "une tempête dans un verre d'eau ", i.e. "a storm in a teacup".
In Germany, the expression became known in 1930 through a comedy of the same name by the writer Bruno Frank.

Uitdrukking voor iets dat achterhaald is en niet ongedaan kan worden gemaakt.
A busy bee with some sweet bee's knees. These pear trees blossom early and hold their color later than most trees in the fall. I had an inspiration for the theme and posted a photo yesterday and had to un-tag it since It was taken on Wednesday of last week. I'm glad I came to my senses before an administrator had to take the time to show me the error of my ways. At any rate this bee showed up early this morning and I was able to get a close approxamation of the picture I took last week. Have a creative Flickr Friday and thank you to anyone that cares to leave some feedback.

Non sempre il nome dei monti presenta un significato. Spesso, anzi, si tratta di toponimi misteriosi, derivati da antichi idiomi e di cui s'è perduto il significato d'origine. In qualche caso però il nome risulta calzante e affascinante, come ad esempio nella Tofana di Rozes, il cui colore rosato all'alba e al tramonto rispecchia fedelmente il nome. Ma anche nel caso del Cristallo, la cui parete nord rifulge limpida e gelida come il cristallo ..... ..

Artist Matej Kren’s ‘Idiom‘ is a a cylindrical tower consisting of hundreds of books.
Mirrors placed at the bottom and the top give the exhibit the illusion of being infinite. A tear-shaped opening on one side of the tower allows visitors to peer their heads and shoulders into the tower’s interior and experience what feels like ‘drowning in a book well‘.
This literary wormhole has become a sort of local landmark and even featured on the cover of Science magazine.
Simple yet impressive.

The very common English idiom "don't judge a book by its cover" is a metaphorical phrase which means "don't determine the worth of something based on its appearance". It is probably the most common expression used in English to convey this idea.

The phrase first finally appeared in 1544 in the American journal American Speech as "you can't judge a book by its binding." In 1946 the phrase appeared in the murder mystery novel Murder in the Glass Room (by Edwin Rolfe and Lester Fuller) as "you can never tell a book by its cover.".

Eigentlich gehören die Vorarlberger, deren Idiom mehr an das Schweizerische erinnert, als der westlichste Appendix zu Österreich, und werden von den anderen Österreichern eher so betrachtet, wie die Ostfriesen in Deutschland, was die im Rheintal lebenden jedoch nie daran gehindert hat, über die Jahrhunderte, Baumeister nach ganz Europa zu entsenden und dort Vortreffliches zu bauen.
Sie haben versucht an die Schweiz angegliedert zu werden, aber die Schweizer wollten nicht. Trotzdem hat Vorarlberg eine moderne Architekturschule geschaffen, die allseits anerkannt ist. Und so lohnt sich ein Besuch von Architekturfans ...
Die Vorarlberger Bauschule inspirierte auch ein Berliner Architekturbüro an die Tradition und den Qualitätsanspruch anzuknüpfen.
So konnte das Gebäude auch direkt zwei Architekturpreise gewinnen. Hascher Jehle beschreibt ihr Veranstaltungsgebäude, Montforthaus, in Feldkirch, wie folgt:
Die plastische und fließende Gebäudekontur orientiert sich an den umgebenen Platzkanten sowie der Bebauung. Dadurch verschmelzen die drei angrenzenden innerstädtischen Plätze zu einem großflächigen Außenraum mit fließenden Übergängen.
Horizontale, geschosshohe Fassadenbänder treten aus der amorphen Kubatur hervor oder springen hinter die Fassadenebene zurück. Als transparente Fassaden ausgebildet, stellen sie den Dialog zwischen Innen und Außen her. So wird einerseits das Herz des Hauses – der große Saal – von außen sichtbar und das „Innenleben“ für die Passanten erlebbar; andererseits wird das Stadtpanorama zur Kulisse. Durch die organisch geschwungene Außenform hat die zukünftige Multifunktionshalle keine Vorder- und Rückansicht, sondern umlaufend gleichwertig attraktive Seiten.
Der Haupteingang am Rösslepark führt in eine freie, viergeschossige Foyerlandschaft mit offenen Galerien und einer großzügigen Treppenskulptur, die den Besucher durch das Haus geleitet: am kleinen Saal vorbei, entlang der Seminarräume gelangen sie so bis auf die Dachterrasse in die Bar. Die Konzeption der verglasten Dachflächen und des offenen Raumgefüges ermöglicht den Besuchern bereits beim Betreten des Gebäudes den Überblick über den gesamten Innenraum bis zur Dachterrasse.
In dem neuen Veranstaltungshaus werden zukünftig nicht nur Kongresse, Bälle, Messen, Konzerte und Theateraufführungen stattfinden, sondern zusätzlich können die attraktiven Foyer- und Dachflächen auch für Events jeglicher Art extern gemietet werden.
