First time I saw northern lights in my entire life. This was a mind blowing moment that I’ll never forget! 😊
Even though this was taken at 10:30PM, the sun was still just above the horizon giving some dramatic lighting on the mountain top. This is a very popular Mountain in Iceland to photograph for obvious reasons!
Iceland...
Niceland, Paradiseland, beautyland...
you can associate the name with a lot of nice adjectives to describe its beauty.
I've been exploring Iceland since almost 6 years from the ground, hiking, driving, even sailing,
from below in the lava caves; had a chance to fly a couple of times but here we are,
THE big flight I've been dreaming about since I settled!!
We flew with a Cessna, perfect for photography with two openable windows on each side of the craft. Plan was to cover a huge part of the south around the glaciers and over the Fjallabak area.
Here is the list of the sites we've covered: Seljalandsfoss, Eyjafjallajökull, Þórsmörk, Álftavatn, Hraftinnusker, Landmannalaugar, Ljötipöllur, Fjallabak, Tungnaá, Langisjór, Lakagígar, Strútur, Mælifellssandur, Mýrdalsjökull, Vík, Reynisdrangar, Dýrhólaey, Skógar…

There is a guy in Iceland who love the colours of the flags of Gabon or Rwanda (green, yellow, blue) or have a nice taste for paint to offer us such a sweet possibility of picture :)

Gullfoss is an amazing waterfall, the earth just slices away leaving this powerful river to just drop one hundred feet (just out of frame of this shot). It was challenging to find a composition, and I really didn't think I had until I saw this one. It seemed to capture the power of the falls.

Summer season is officially over here in Iceland.
Autumn colors and mood took the lead already over sunny days.
it's our, sort of, beginning of winter that is upon us with rainy and windy days.
Due to a Icelandic "heat wave" over the last weeks, some places of the Icelandic highlands are still accessible and it's interesting to reach those locations at this time of the year, when usually the first snow start covering everything in the highlands.
We managed to access the popular area of Landmannalaugar beginning of October to catch up on the special colors and lights that the season can offer.
Overcrowded place in high season with all the hikers, trekkers, wanderers and simple tourists, the place seems reviving in October with almost no one around.
Enjoy this little trip in pictures and the autumn moody lights and colors...

Ok...I wasn't the first to take a shot like this, but I didn't have one in my portfolio ánd I do think it is kinda cool!
However, it took quite some time to get the shot. At first there was a tremendous amount of people on the site that where walking between my zoom lens and the waterfall. After they left, it was a waiting game before someone with the right color raincoat (red or yellow where my preferred options) stood on this rock. After an hour or so I got the shot and finally could go back to my car and change to some dry clothes

These Icelandic horses were running around playing like dogs. It was windy and raining, the other horses were huddling up to stay warm, but these two decided it was time to play. Love those manes!

Fagrifoss, a waterfall in Geirlandsá¡ River, is a magnificent waterfall that certainly lives up to its name. It´s on the way to Laki and the road is rugged with rivers that can be treacherous to cross if the water level rises due to lots of rain and warm weather. The view of the waterfall is best from the east side but a bit of a hike is necessary in order to get a good view.
Fagrifoss is waterfall situated in Southeast Iceland near the Lakagígar region. It is located along the 4x4 road F206 approximately 24 km (15 mi) from Kirkjubæjarklaustur and 40 km (25 mi) from Laki. Access to the waterfall requires the crossing of a river ford, for which a 4x4 vehicle is needed.
