A bit more glass instead of plastic, slightly less packaging – there are many ways to live a little greener. But I do not want to talk about it at this point – is not the right setting. And in general I do not give any lectures about it ;-) But more and more my heart melts for the ideas, and I've been starting to change things on a small scale a long time ago ...
And I also thought of the beloved polar bears (see also www.flickr.com/photos/carenpolarbears/) with my heart of ice – I hope the ice will not melt away under their feet at this speed ...

Ein bisschen mehr Glas statt Plastik, etwas weniger Verpackung – es gibt viele Möglichkeiten, etwas umweltbewusster zu leben. Ich möchte an dieser Stelle aber keine Abhandlung darüber halten – ist nicht so der richtige Rahmen. Und im Allgemeinen halte ich auch keine Vorträge darüber ;-) Aber immer mehr schmilzt mein Herz für die Ideen, und ich habe schon länger im Kleinen angefangen, manches zu verändern …
Und an die lieben Eisbären (siehe auch www.flickr.com/photos/carenpolarbears/) habe ich mit meinem Herz aus Eis auch gedacht – ich hoffe, ihnen schmilzt das Eis nicht weiter in diesem Tempo unter den Füßen weg …

This week's task in Macro photography is to produce an image in less than 3" called "In Ice" ... with the first image I created I followed on from the Lockdown Song and Valentine's Day. I twisted this somewhat and instead of creating an image of all "love and roses" I sought this to be an unrequited love from her OR him (it's immaterial) and the song to cover this would be "You're as Cold as Ice" ... I hope you like it?
This is a 100% Organic Freeze. I put it outside, where all natural air froze the water it's in. . . just for added fun!
ice cube is 3.3 cm w by 2.5 cm h

My entry for this week's Macro Mondays theme of Hot or Cold is actually Hot and Cold as it shows the polar bear and its uncertain future with climate change. The polar bear is a very small novelty ice cube. I had a few of them backed up in the freezer as - like earth's ice caps - they were melting fast! So much so, I had to plan the shot before I took it. A bit of a puddle on my desk was the result but nothing that couldn't be easily mopped up!

Coca Cola on ice in a tiny glass. I don't like softdrinks. I prefer coffee and tea and a glass of red wine once in a while.

Macro Mondays - In Ice Small resin duck 2cm from beak to tail. In a 1 1/2” ice cube partially melted.

Macro Mondays theme: Plastic
These are reusable, plastic ice cubes (which are 1" in size). They might be colourful, fun and don't dilute your drink, but for some reason I still prefer real ice cubes.

During the summer we had a cargo snow ramp at the IceCube lab building. Now that the summer is almost over this ramp had to go. The bulldozers are distributing all the snow of the ramp on a big area so it won't cause snow drift in the winter.
A shot that I took for an MM challenge, "In Ice". A tiny fragment of lichen on a twig. I just loved the textures and the bubbles that got caught in the ice cube. ;o)
