I saw frozen soap bubbles made by photographers on a Finnish photo site, and of course I wanted to try it myself. Well, it wasn't quite as simple as I thought, but on the second day of practice I succeeded. Unfortunately, the weather in the afternoon was cloudy, so I had to use a torch as a light source, I had both yellow and red light.

I needed a soapy solution, a drinking straw, a torch, frost (I had -13c) and snow as a place for the bubble to land.

Tuesday morning left for work at freezing 2f, -16C,

when I came home 9am it was 16F perfect for bubbles.

What a difference few days make, from freezing weather we had these past 3 days Sunday will be 57F,

I guess we must wait to take frozen bubbles again.

The season has started for frozen bubbles, it was 15F perfect temperature for making bubbles. this time those bubbles stayed whole for the longest time,

stirring well is essential to blend all the liquids to become one.

Click on this link to get more info and the recipe for the bubbles.

Ice formation on the Ottawa River

Formation de glace sur la rivière des Outaouais

It’s not usually cold enough here to do these, but it was this morning! Has been on my photographic bucket list for a while, might get another chance (and more time) tomorrow

Pine needles in ice - Aiguilles de pin dans la glace

The weather has been to warm here to take new bubbles,

I must say I missed all that freezing fun:-)

It has to be bellow 16 F in order to work.

Recipe on my first bubble, check the Frozen bubbles album.

Little change of pace from my flowers,

I guess the heat made me think of Winter:-

ice in an old well

Coming home Yesterday was perfect temperature 16F for frozen bubbles. 90 to be exact, many of them went to trash.

The photo was taken by our front door bush.

This was taken in the garden 4 years ago,

Unfortunately this year the weather was warmer most of the time, need to be bellow 16F in order to form crystals before it pops.

It was -7°Celsius that morning and the first time my trials with frozen soap bubbles had been successful. :)

At least 2 of them started freezing amongst some dried leaves of the little japanese maple tree on my balcony.

In the midst of winter I discovered the beauty of ice and silence.

No red colours in the sky, no fog or mist, this is winter in Alberta, frozen bubbles with blue tone, a photographer is shooting his subject.

I don't see any ice at the North Pole

😉

Yet another Crystal ball from the other day,

have a lovely week ahead everyone.

The snow has turned into rain, hopefully will melt all that white stuff on the ground.

I like what happened to this one the reflection of the sunrise and chimney is inverted from the rear one,

I think that is cool.

These were formed by splashing water along the edge of the Ottawa River.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated.

You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.

The whole point of taking pictures is so that you don’t have to explain things with words.

Finally we had a frost sharp enough for me to blow an ice bubble onto these frosted oak leaves. I hope you like it. There's a little more detail when viewed large.

I have seen on the net lately many people playing with soap Bubbles, then I saw one of my contacts post few great shots,

Well here I am doing my first bubble, I will try more on Sunday when I come home early, the temperatures have to be bellow 16F, thanks for the inspiration George!

Another one from this morning.

Laudate Dominum omnes gentes

Laudate eum, omnes populi

Quoniam confirmata est

Super nos misericordia eius,

Et veritas Domini manet in aeternum.

Gloria Patri et Filio et Spiritui Sancto.

Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper.

Et in saecula saeculorum.

Amen.

it was 9 Fahrenheit this morning, and the weather forecast calls for good bubble freezing weather all week! I think this is my favorite ice bubble photo so far:)

When he told you you’re not good enough

When he told you you're not right

When he told you you’re not strong enough

To put up a good fight

When he told you you're not worthy

When he told you you're not loved

When he told you you're not beautiful

That you'll never be enough

Fear it is a liar

It'll take your breath

Stop you in your steps

Fear it is a liar

It'll rob your rest

Steal your happiness

Cast your fear in the fire

Cause fear it is a liar

When he told you were troubled

You’ll forever be alone

When he told you you should run away

You’ll never find a home

When he told you you were dirty

And you should be ashamed

When he told you you could be the one

That grace could never change

Let Your fire fall and cast out all my fears

Let Your fire fall Your love is all I feel
