Rotfüchse stellen in Australien ein ernstes Naturschutzproblem dar.Schätzungen aus dem Jahr 2012 zufolge gibt es mehr als 7,2 Millionen Rotfüchse ( Vulpes vulpes), die mit einem Verbreitungsgebiet auf dem größten Teil des kontinentalen Festlandes wachsen.Die Art etablierte sich in Australien durch sukzessive Einführung durch Siedler in den 1830er Jahren. Aufgrund seiner schnellen Ausbreitung und ökologischen Auswirkungen wurde es als eine der schädlichsten invasiven Arten in Australien eingestuft.

Red foxes are a serious conservation issue in Australia. According to 2012 estimates, there are more than 7.2 million red foxes ( Vulpes vulpes) growing with a range covering most of the continental mainland. The species became established in Australia through successive Introduced by settlers in the 1830s. Due to its rapid spread and ecological impact, it has been classified as one of the most damaging invasive species in Australia.
