For my 365 in January I’m only capturing black and white photos with hardly no edits, as a challenge to myself, to look for light and shadows and the different ways I can use them. I will be using my iPhone at times and will have to edit to black and white. When using my Nikon, no edits only adding my watermark in the Snap-seed app Thanks for looking!
When I shot this I never saw the person just chillin 😊 until I was looking at my pictures & zoomed in.

En hommage à Pierre CHANTEAU, décédé le vendredi 28 mars 2025 à 66 ans des suites d’une longue maladie, l'artiste était notamment célèbre pour les "yeux en céramique", distribués aux 113 communes littorales et insulaires du Finistère (France).
L’artiste n’est plus, néanmoins son regard bienveillant perdure sur l’océan. Il faisait partie de ceux capables de ramener à une autre fonction des matériaux recrachés par les flots. Véritable arpenteur de la grève de Carantec (Finistère), où il s’était installé, et des sentiers sauvages de tout le littoral finistérien.
Il a fermé les yeux, et je souhaite que des passionnés puissent prendre soin de tous les yeux qu'ils a créés et qui nécessitent de l'entretien.
In tribute to Pierre Chanteau, who passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the age of 66 following a long illness, the artist was particularly famous for his "ceramic eyes," distributed to the 113 coastal and island communities of Finistère (France).
The artist is no longer with us, but his benevolent gaze on the ocean endures. He was one of those capable of repurposing materials washed up by the waves. A true surveyor of the Carantec beach (Finistère), where he settled, and of the wild trails along the entire Finistère coastline.
He closed his eyes, and I hope that enthusiasts can take care of all the eyes he created, which require maintenance.

Next to San Jose is a small town called Alviso, located at the San Francisco Bay in California. I saw clouds in the sky, so I drove to the Alviso Marina County Park for sunset. Salt ponds range from blue green to deep magenta – colored naturally by the microorganisms that thrive as salinity levels increase from evaporation.
I processed a balanced, a photographic, and a paintery HDR photo from a JPG exposure, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

I had a bout of nostalgia which old blokes are permitted to have when we did our shopping this morning. Thar she sits, a Holden HR Special which my friends tell me started production in 1966. Now I freely admit I know little about cars but this model always impressed me as a kid and that impression has stayed with me for a lifetime. And the aged driver suited it to a tee. Given she has made it through all these years, hopefully there is a chance that this unit will go on and on being a fine representative of GM Holden, one of Australia's classic brands now sadly gone.

La chanson enregistrée en avril 1967 est une reprise d’Otis Redding dont le cœur des paroles disait « All I’m asking, is for a little respect when I come home » soit l’histoire d’un mec qui bosse, ramène la thune à la maison et demande donc à sa ménagère de femme de le respecter ! Aretha Franklin en fait : « All I’m asking is for a little respect when you get home » Un changement de perspective qui s’explique par une histoire personnelle difficile, entre un père pasteur intransigeant et volage et un mari reproduisant ce modèle patriarcal. Ainsi, dans une version bien plus radicale, traduite par les chœurs qui l’accompagnent, elle manifeste la volonté des femmes à se faire respecter. La chanson devient très vite l’hymne féministe des années 60 et l’hymne de combat de la lutte des Noirs pour les droits civiques.
