A glance through Billy Crowle's old photos of a trip to the US in 1918...
UNDATED and with no descriptions. Halfway through the album to the end. A few have pencil names..
Last print in Album.

The rest of the first half of the album still to be copied…..
Quick work in progress shot from my new desk. It's an IKEA solid Birch worktop, wall mounted edge to edge in my new home office. Current setup includes a 21" iMac, 22" Samsung TV for gaming / Netflix, iPad Mini, iPad Air, lots of Field Notes and my Midori TN Passport ... and a headless dog lamp, don't ask.

I was gifted an iPad Mini for Christmas and I'm so in love with it! I find myself using it more than my actual Macbook Pro as of lately. I've been mostly using it to stream my ripped shows & DVDs and reading books/comic books on it. (Don't worry, there's a screen protector so those scratches aren't damaging lol. PS: I don't recommend the Wacom Solo Stylus...)
I think this is my first WIYB without some type of backpack of the sorts.
Starting from the upper left and going clockwise:
- Lihit Lab Bag
- 32GB Retina Apple iPad Mini w/ a smart cover and an off-brand backing case.
- Adonit Jot Pro (for handwriting digital notes)
- Zebra F-402 Pen
- Aluminum Stylus (paired with Procreate)
- 16GB iPhone 5c
- Herschel Wallet (I seriously need to buy a new one...)
- Apple Headphones
- Moleskine Cahier
The road leading out of Inuvik to the Tuk Highway unfortunately goes through the industrial section of town.
The ITH then winds up a little through a mixed forest landscape with views of the East Channel of the Mackenzie River. The video also shows a very soft highway section due to a very rainy season. There were many of these soft sections, but also very nice and firm driving in between.
Here is a link to a map showing points of interests for the Tuk Highway:

and a link to how it was built and the difficulties it created:

Mobile editing kit in action! Ipad Mini (in a "digital" Field Journal) and Panasonic LUMIX GX8 "in the field" as it were. Handy little piece of kit!
This is the bag I take with me to work almost every day. I love the bag and the color--it gets noticed. The only downside is that it makes it difficult to wear yellow t shirts...oh well! The stuff I carry is there to help me deal with NYC weather, the vagaries of commuting on the subway, and managing the usual life crap. Plus, keeping me entertained and engaged! Sometimes there's a paperback in here, too, and snacks and things. It's been a long couple weeks at work, though, and I've chomped my way through every food-like substance within reach.
1. The classic JanSport SuperBreak...in bright-ass yellow. It's holding up pretty well, considering it's almost two years old. I'm starting to see some whisps of fabric coming up at the seams, and it's getting kinda funky-looking on the outside. NYC'll do that, I suppose. I'm sad to say JanSport doesn't make this color any more, so I'll probably have to get a new bag soonish. Not bad for a ~$26 bag! But there's a kind of plastic-ish finish to the inside that's wearing away in spots, and that worries me since I sometimes carry my computer in here. (In a sleeve! What are we, barbarians?) The only major strike against this bag is the lack of a dedicated laptop sleeve. If I try to carry a lot of stuff things can shift and get awkward and sometimes painful pretty quickly. Keeping my MacBook in there provides a lot of structure to the whole business and prevents that mess from getting out of hand.
2. Weyland-Yutani hoodie, from www.lastexittonowhere.com and also 2 years old. It's holding up pretty well too. Weirdly, this would be easier to replace at this point than the bag. Obviously I have supervillain-identification issues, or I wouldn't have evil corporations featured so prominently.
3. Klean Kanteen: One for my bag, one for the house. They alternate. I like the sport cap, as it facilitates maximally lazy water consumption.
4. Shedrain umbrella: Kinda tiny for me AND a bag, but the JS does a reasonable job of staying dry if I don't expose it to a downpour.
5. Pilot G2 Gel Pen, Blue: I like it. Pen enthusiasts hate it. Someday I'll try another pen, but today is not that day. Yet.
6. Moleskine, black, grid-ruled: I like it. Good for a little reflection time. Stickers are important. And, once again, evil megacorp representin'.
7. Business Cards
8 & 9. Warby Parker microfiber cloth, bandana: Cleaning off all the glass I might carry with me on any given day. And cleanign off anything else I might need to clean off. The bandana is from The Sword( www.swordofdoom.com ), a nerdy metal band out of Austin. They tour like fiends, and I've seen them at least 3 times in NYC since 2010 plus another show at Bonnaroo. Also they write songs about Westeros!
10. Cheap sunglasses: Go buy yourself some. Oh yeah.
11. Cheap red glasses case: For keeping those $8 aviators fresh for years.
12. Motorola S305: Great, inexpensive Bluetooth headphones! There's a mic for making calls, and a set of remote controls on the right earpiece. They're great on the subway--no cord to snag on other peoples' coats and bags. They're REALLY great in the winter--they do a decent job as earmuffs, and thanks to the remote it's easy to control the music with your gloves on and your phone safely hidden in your pocket or bag. Love these things.
13. iPhone 4S, 32GB black: For now, anyway. It's been my daily companion for almost 2 years now. I get a ton of use out of the music app and Reeder for RSS feeds. Also doubles as a 4G hotspot for the iPad or computer.
14 & 15. Herschel iPad Mini case, black, and iPad Mini, 16GB black: Oh man. I picked this up (used) from a friend a couple weeks ago, and since then I've read six books (one was paperback, the rest epub) along with daily news injections and several weeks' worth of comics. I rarely took my iPad 3 out and about with me, but this guy? Errywhurr.
16 & 17. InCase mini cables and MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter: Great for emergency phone charging, or for charging my headphones while I'm away from home. Also really sueful for helping other people charge their phones or connecting a hard drive or camera. One of these days I'll get around to adding a Lightning cable and a USB 3 cable, and maybe the charger from the iPad Mini.
Birthday present this year. I also bought this lovely little iPad case from Etsy, i think the shop name was madeinBerlin.
