She's really brave, being a vegetaraian. "I'm not a hypocrite! If I'm going to eat it, I'm going to kill it." Good leader too.
Glenn Greenwald gave a presentation and then joined with David Barsamian in a conversation at the James A. Little Theater.

I have disliked College Republicans since, ah, well, since I was in college and first learned of them. They are an amazingly consistent bunch. Oh, the dogma (they have been known to eat bark). They're prone to piercing extremes and they also have the tendency to latch onto particular candidates (when I was in college it was Jack Kemp!), so I didn't know how Vitter was going to play for them. They're calling for him to resign, so he's clearly not playing well with them. Then I found out the real deal: they're JINDAL guys. They feel Vitter is mucking things up for Jindal.
Why didn't I take a picture of the College Repubs? There were three of them. I shook the hand of two of them. (I won't deny it, I've washed my hands). I should've taken their picture. So it goes.

rescue me when I get too deep,
talk to me there's nothing to tell,
Everyone is a hypocrite,
look to me,
I'll save your soul
Now somebody out there must be
reading my mail
Cuz' everybody knows
I'm a man with a mission,
coming to your town today,
I can damm you to fiery perdition,
Cuz' I'm a man with a mission
Follow me, when you give up,
Work for me, it'll serve you well
Everyone is a hypocrite, come to me,
I'll save your soul
Now somebody out there must be
tapping my phone,
Cuz everybody knows
I'm a man with a mission,
I'm gonna fly you away,
high above the noise and competition,
yeah I'm a man with a mission,
Passing through your town today
I condemn you
to fiery perdition,
yeah I'm a man with a mission
This is was poster campaign for University of South Florida's College of Visual & Performing Arts. After the student poll results came back with many of the responses being, "Wait, we have a College of Visual & Performing Arts here?" the department heads realized there was an awareness problem.
We tried to solve it with this poster series. The claim was that Chaos, Torture, Legs and Hypocrites were part of the college experience and could be found at the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
PS: I also wrote the copy for the Chaos and Hypocrites pieces.
“A promise is a cloud; fulfillment is the rain.” – Arab proverb. Keep
in mindthat for the Arabs, living in harsh desert lands, rain is the
bringer of life and Allah’s blessing, providing bounty and relief. The
proverb is saying that a cloud is like a promise, offering hope of
needed sustenance but not really giving it. If you want to be real,
bring the rain.
Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant
him peace, said, “There are three signs of a hypocrite: whenever he
speaks, he lies; whenever he makes a promise, he breaks it; and
whenever he is trusted, he betrays his trust.” [Agreed upon] It is
added in a variant of Muslim, “Even if he fasts and prays and claims
that he is a Muslim.”
Deceivers and hypocrites are clouds that pass over again and again but
bring no rain, leaving only drought and hunger in their wake.
Now, before anyone sends me a message saying, “Only Allah can bring
rain!” – I don’t mean it literally. I’m speaking metaphorically, in
keeping with the proverb.
Andrew Carnegie, the famous industrialist, observed, “As I grow older
I pay less attention to whatmen say. I just watch what they do.”
If you want to make a real difference in the world, if you want to
better your situation and your family’s lives, if you want people
totake you seriously, then don’t only talk. Do. Bring it.
Do that consistently and people will take your wordlike a Himalayan
mountain. You will move ahead in lifelike an orca – the most powerful
swimmer in the sea – cutting through the waves. And you will have one
of the characteristics ofa true believer, as the keeping of promises
is one of the most important aspects of Imaan (faith). (I should point
out that the exception would be a promise to do something evil – such
a promise should be broken, since there is no virtue in doing haram,
and therefore no virtue in keeping the promise).
“O you who believe! Fulfill (your) obligations.” (Quran 5:1)
Amir al-Mu’minin (Commander of the Faithful) ‘Ali (RA), in his letter
to Malik al-Ashtar, wrote:
“If you conclude an agreement between yourself and your enemy or enter
into a pledge with him, then fulfil your agreement and discharge your
pledge faithfully. Place yourself as a shield against whatever you
havepledged, because among the obligations of Allah there is nothing
on which people are more firmly united despite the difference of their
ideas and variation of their viewsthan respect for fulfilling
pledges.”
Words are important. They are a starting point, and they have the
power to heal or hurt. But even moreimportant are actions. Fulfill
your promises. Practice what you preach. Do. Bring it.

Don't worry. No fish were killed during the making of this picture. I'm a catch and release fisherman. I wouldn't have kept a fish even if it had been a monster. I just like fishing. Once in a great while, if I'm in the mood to eat a couple, I'll keep some, but not very often.
I know it's a little hypocritical but it's the best I can offer you. I don't hunt either cause you can't catch and release with a gun.
hypocrite. she terrorizes everyone else with HER camera and then gets irritated at me for taking her picture.
My thanks to those who posted the thoughtful comments on my previous photo ... that there are many like-minded thinkers out there is encouraging.
I want to respond, albeit in a sort of tortuously conflicted manner ...
The person who shot and killed this Moose was a local First Nation (native) person and was almost certainly doing so to feed himself and his family, although I don't know his personal circumstances.
Although I no longer hunt, and, in my heart, I now feel a distinct revulsion at the killing of wild animals, it would be fairly hypocritical of me to condemn this in blanket fashion, especially since my own four children were raised on Moose and Caribou, and I have to admit that I still gladly accept gifts of wild meat which I'm often given by friends who do hunt.
There is an almost instinctive negative reaction against someone "shooting from the road", but, general philosophical considerations regarding hunting and possible public safety issues aside, I want to say that, if someone is hunting solely for subsistence, it makes no difference whether an animal is killed from the roadside or from a mountaintop ..... Taking a life is simply taking a life, regardless of the killer's vantage point.
In my past, I did this a few times myself, with caribou, Though able to get out on a road, I was essentially living in the bush at the time, was quite broke, and had a serious need to feed my hungry children. Doubtless, I should not have been in that situation, but that's where I was ....
Much of the revulsion to this comes from a sense that it is not fair, not sporting, but I really don't think those concepts should even enter into the equation ...
Regardless of where a human is standing, there is nothing "fair" about a person with a high powered rifle stalking a wild animal. In fact, as the wave of extinctions attending the radiation of human populations around the globe at the end of the Pleistocene show, there has probably never been anything particularly fair about hunting by large-brained hominids, whether they were tossing hand axes, launching spears or using arrows.
As to the issue of whether it is "sporting", I have only disgust at the idea of hunting as a "Sport", and have always felt that way. I feel that all life is essentially equally sacred and deserving of our reverence and respect.
The killing of our fellow beings should never be considered a sport or game or recreational activity and I cannot fathom the mindset of people who callously do so, though I meet them all the time.
I personally feel strongly that those who kill wastefully, or for "Sport", or for a thrill, or for a decorative head to mount on a wall, or for financial gain,
probably themselves deserve a similiar fate.
Though it is increasingly abused, and I doubt that our overcrowded, overstressed planet can any longer afford it, the the issue of traditional, culture related hunting rights for aboriginal peoples in remote areas is a difficult and complex one.
The point I want to make is that our fellow animals are sentient beings with a right to life, and that the taking of any life is a moral issue and should be approached with the same care and concern as any other deep moral consideration. It is nothing to be taken lightly, and those of us who cherish life in all it's myriad manifestations need to speak out on it ...

--- HOW MANY LIVES PER GALLON? ---
Sorry, but this kind of crap makes me mad...You put this on a car...that runs on oil???
PLEASE - someone out there prove to me that this runs on veggie oil...PLEASE...otherwise tell the owner of this car that he/she is the reason why conservatives hate liberals. Oh, and you can also call them a hypocrite. Look, I get it, but bumper stickers won't stop the war, nor will the continuation of oil usage, particularly in automobiles. However, I will make an offer to the owner to help install a veggie oil engine if they contact me. (Labor only - no money.) I swear on my life.

I found these pale beauties, nestled as they are by an aconite leaf … near the darker coloured ones. I don't know about you but I find them rather lovely. The only problem is they hug the ground so closely and it's not as easy as it once was to get right down there … then get up again after taking the shot!
‘Dog' means it lacks scent, as opposed to ‘sweet' violet.
Dog, like Horse, is a common English prefix for distinguishing an inferior species from its superior relative.
Local names include Blue mice, Cuckoo's shoe and Shoes and stockings. Other interesting monikers include Hypocrites, Pig violet, Horse violet, Summer violet and Snake violet … obviously very popular to have achieved so many nicknames!.
Spontaneity with people frees you from all need to conceal your true-self...
If you cant help being seemingly sugar-coated, try to ensure that you are just as sweet on the inside too.. nobody likes a two-faced hypocrite..
An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
Proverbs 11:9 King James Version
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. It is these you ought to have practiced without neglecting the others.
Matthew 23:23-24 (NRSV)
