Bombay potatoes made with Ben's curry leaves, turmeric, cumin, chilli powder, onion, lemon juice, pine nuts, tomatoes and coriander. It was beautiful.
Apologies to my vegan pals, it's rare for me to eat fish, but I feel in need of brain power and omega 3. I do love a fresh mackerel.
Job 20:4 Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
5 That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
6 Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
7 Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
8 He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
9 The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
10 ¶His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.
11 His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
12 Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;
13 Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:
14 Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
15 He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
16 He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper's tongue shall slay him.
17 He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.
18 That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.
19 Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
20 Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.
21 There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
22 In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.
23 ¶When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.
24 He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.
25 It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.
26 All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
27 The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
28 The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
29 This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.

2 hetero couples and 1 with subtle style (!).
Within this collection, it is such photographs as the one being viewed that are the most valuable. They defy stereotypes and the often negatively racially slanted narrative about Afro American opinions on same-sex affection "historically" within the community. The Afro American community (outside the usual vociferous gang of self-rightious, hypocritical thugs) has a long history showing an acceptance of many "male" same-sex couples. Yet the media will focus on those men who had the misfortune of living in homophobic circles for some length of time and portray their word as the literal gospel on the black view of same-sex living. Those who have found contentment and have not divorced themselves from the community are largely ignored.
I guess I'm a hypocrite, because I really don't mind all the women that walk (and lie) around San Diego in bikinis, yet I'm so annoyed by all the guys that walk around without shirts on (and trucker hats with flat brims).
When will you ever, Peace, wild wooddove, shy wings shut,
Your round me roaming end, and under be my boughs?
When, when, Peace, will you, Peace? – I'll not play hypocrite
To own my heart: I yield you do come sometimes; but
That piecemeal peace is poor peace. What pure peace allows
Alarms of wars, the daunting wars, the death of it?
O surely, reaving Peace, my Lord should leave in lieu
Some good! And so he does leave Patience exquisite,
That plumes to Peace thereafter. And when Peace here does house
He comes with work to do, he does not come to coo,
He comes to brood and sit.
MATTHEW 6: 1-6, 16-21
6 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
2 “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
5 “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
16 “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 17 But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
I regret not taking note of this uncannily person-like burning trash can's given Christian name. He was there to explain to kids the importance of not setting your trash can on fire. So my question: is he more of a hypocrite, or more of an ingrate? Is he a self-hating trash can on fire, or am I just projecting?
Fellas with nightsticks giving brothas the enema
Cuz they're racist like classical Hollywood cinema
Systematically chasing our people and abusing 'em
Like Romans genocidin' Jews in New Jerusalem
Guns don't look look like wallets--how the fuck you confusin' em?
We're losin' em every day, and it's gettin' me pissed
They barely admit that racial profiling exists
But politicians don't condemn it, sounding hypocritical
Innocent victims getting statistically typical
I resist arrest, I don't wanna be taken alive
I'd rather die standing than live kneeling, broken inside
Cop stopped me, cocked a loaded gun in my grill
And that's the reason that I have no fear of being killed

Comment by Philip McMaster:
People favourably respond to Change
Generally speaking, people don't change for the better when criticized. But they do respond favourably to praise.
Huaxi Cun is not the worst place in China, and it has been following and sometimes leading the objectives and trends of the government and Chinese people - first it was to get rich - and clean up the mess later. We did this in the West on our own schedule, some Chinese are doing it now under the generally hypocritical pressure of the global community.
An aspirational monument - if you choose to see it that way..
When I was invited to Huaxi Cun for the inauguration of the “Village in the Sky”, (www.tudou.com/programs/view/05XpJXkiNwI/ ) I spoke of the new tower as a beacon for all to see, not in terms of opulence and excess, but as a towering 3 element "Symbol of Sustainability" - an aspirational symbol rising above all else - including the cookie-cutter villas, the grubby factories, the money focus and the faux world landmarks - to shock and awe viewers into realizing that all monuments have a message – and this one should inspire people to make the connection between Heaven, Earth and the People (Tian, Di, Ren 天地人) and that to achieve Wu Renbao’s “Heaven on Earth”… the Triple-Bottom-Line balance between Society, Environment and Economy (社会,环境,经济)must become Huaxi’s new ethic.

"Now that Huaxi village is rich, what's next?"
Following my presentation, the new building’s architect Ma Xusheng, in turn praised my interpretation of his building’s design, saying that no one had thought of it before, but that “with your new ‘Society, Environment, Economy ‘meaning attached, our building is even richer”.
At a private dinner with village leaders the evening before, I had shamelessly asked: “Now that Huaxi village is rich, what’s next?” – hoping to encourage them to expound on how they were going to share Huaxi’s wealth and expertise with other communities and to build sustainable enterprises based on a model ecological civilisation… however the response was understandable, as a bit more thinking is required; and considering most people’s focus was still on showing off and celebrating what they have achieved so far, the answer was a simple “Gambei!”

This editorial cartoon titled Hypocrites by Bearman was originally done in 2006. It depicts an elephant (Republican) holding up signs that say ProLife and For Death Penalty and a Donkey (Democrat) holding up signs that say Pro Choice and Anti Death Penalty.

I hate lousy 3/4 shots of buses in bus station. Hence, this makes me a total hypocrite!
However, I've posted it purely on the grounds of age, dating from 4th July 2006, and that it has some now gone signage with the Stagecoach depot and Focus DIY.

Little switch back for my boys in the burbs. I've always loved this sign, but it's never turned out in color, because of the blasted red neon going berserker on anything over a few seconds. I'm sure I could spend hours tweaking it, but well that's not the point with night photography in my mind. It's all about catching the mood of the light vs. making it artificial - at least for stuff like this (not trying to be a hypocrite, Troy).
My little new pocket canon (and not Canon) has a lot of ump in low light, but I wanted to try a longer exposure with the manual settings. Not exactly the way I wished it turned out, but I think it's not to bad for a non-DSLR.
With respect to the "Gats" part of title, it's related to a rather random shooting this past weekend in what seems to be the Buffalo squeeze on the edges of Buffalo with respect to crime, and Cheektowaga's evident squeeze right back with increased patrols in the area. Needless to say I was asked on two occasions what I was doing by both Cheektowaga and Buffalo Police tonight over 20m of shooting. To Jim (the Buffalo Police Officer - you rock), thanks for showing me your thread. Keep up the good work!
Verse
"On the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness." (Matthew 23:28)
Explanation
The dish is clean outside, dirty inside.
Outside, a hypocrite appears "clean" (good & kind); inside, the hypocrite is "dirty" (bad & mean).

The Fraudulent find themselves housed in the Eighth Circle of Hell, which is divided into ten rocky clefts, or divisions, called bolgias.
•The first bolgia contains the Panders and the Seducers, two lines of naked souls moving in opposite directions.
•The second bolgia is characterized by the foul stench of Flatterers drowning in excrement.
•The Simonists, fraudulent eccclesiastics who profited from the Church or its offices, are trapped in flaming holes found in the third bolgia, with only their legs sticking out.
•The Soothsayers, a group of weeping shadows, find themselves in the fourth bolgia. Claiming to be able to see the future in life, their heads are twisted around so completely that their tears fall on their buttocks.
•The fifth bolgia contains the Barrators, who sinned against the State and are tormented by a company of pitchfork-wielding devils.
•The sixth bolgia is where we find the Hypocrites, wearing gilded but heavy, lead-lined cloaks. Here, Caiaphas, Pontius Pilate's evil counselor, stands crucified and impaled by three stakes.
•Thieves are attacked by serpents in the seventh bolgia. The thieves spend eternity being burned into ashes, before being returned to human form.
•The Deceivers of the eighth bolgia are nothing more than flickering flames.
•The ninth bolgia, where Sowers of Discord are banished, are disfigured and dismembered. The image above depicts one of this bolgia's residents, the medieval French troubadour Bertram De Born as a example of divine retribution, as his wits are literally "separated" from his body.
•In the tenth bolgia are the shrieking, diseased, and pestilent Falsifiers, frantically scratching at their own sores.

yes. i photographed exotic dancers. it's not worse than photographing those girls in those music videos or lady gaga.
people told me i shouldn't admit to doing these. i won't be showing off but i have nothing to hide. i could see some parent freaking out that i did this then had the nerve to take pictures of their darling ones. i'd rather put these out there and not get hired than be judged by hypocrites.
shit pic i know, only up here to show these hypocrites from "fitness first" that have set up a recruiting station in the food court at work. the slogan on the tent is "for a healthier lifestyle use fitness first" or something. nevermind the fact that they all regularly duck off round the corner for a sneaky fag, several of the blokes have beer guts a hepped up trucker would be proud of, and this fine saturday lunchtime they'd ordered in maccas, and were filming the feast! there's a pool on the roof at the new club though, so i might have to join.
"There's gold in them hills Barry." "Don't I know it. Now we just have to figure out how to tax it."
This is fucking moronic. Claiming empathy for those whose lives are threatened and demeaned while sounding the klaxons of destruction is fucking stupid. Whoever you are, quit the stupid.

W. Pete Blake
The Sunsets original rhythm guitarist, fired by Summer Adams and Geffen records after alleged drug problems, and failing to show for a number of shows. Pete didn’t deny the drug allegations, but claimed that the rest of the band did just as much as he did, and called Adams a “Hypocrite control freak skank”. He claims he was fired after missing two shows through a bout of flu, and was never paid for the last three months with the supergroup.
Whatever the reasons, the band survived the rest of their first tour with hired in guitarists until Brighton UK, where they met their future guitarist Michelle King.
Pete now fronts the “Devil Birds”, alongside The Sunsets initial drummer Frank Catt.

More than most, I think, my middle school (and the middle schoolers in it) were obsessed with status symbols. Though this awareness manifested itself often in relatively conventional products like Oakley sunglasses and Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirts, this was Oregon so ski-wear was the real focus. One of the most popular kids in the school had nine black fleece vests. (I counted.) But fleece vests were really just his thing; the real aspirational garment was the North Face parka. Everyone wanted one, and the kids who had them wore them every day -- nothing else quite so eloquently summed up the school's particularly bourgeois combination of leisure and activity. This is a picture of a North Face jacket with a hammer and sickle and the letters "CCCP" on it that I saw in a store in Ann Arbor. The king is dead. Long live the king!
27 March 2009. On the eve of “Serfs Emancipation Day”, a new public holiday that the Chinese government has imposed on the Tibetan people, ex-political prisoner, Palden Gyatso, was joined by members of the UK Tibetan community in a demonstration outside the Chinese embassy in London.
Kneeling on the pavement, handcuffed and gagged, wearing shirts with the message “I’m Tibetan and I am NOT emancipated”, the group gave a strong rebuttal to the Chinese government’s hypocritical and cynical propaganda that Tibetans were liberated 50 years ago.If they had taken thi s action inside Tibet, they would have been met with swift and brutal reprisals that could have resulted in beatings, detention and even death.
Palden Gyatso, witness to China’s brutal crackdown in Tibet following the Tibetan people’s uprising in 1959 said, “We are remembering this day not as the day when Tibet was liberated, but imprisoned instead. Before China’s Red Army marched into Tibet, we enjoyed freedom of speech, freedom of movement and freedom of religion. But since the invasion, repressive surveillance and restrictions were imposed.”
Tibet Society Chairman, Fredrick Hyde-Chambers, and Chief Executive, Philippa Carrick, joined this historic demonstration that exercised the basic human right to freedom of peaceful assembly, a right denied Tibetans in Tibet.
Philippa Carrick said, “it is salutary to think that if we had done this simple action in Lhasa, we would have been risking our lives and the lives of our families. The situation inside Tibet is critical; after 50 years of occupation, subjugation and repression, Tibetans are desperate. What little news that gets out of Tibet tells of continued demonstrations, arrests, severe crackdowns and, tragically, suicides. A member of the group protesting here today recently received news that his best friend, Tashi Sangpo, a Tibetan monk from the Amdo Golok Ragya monastery, committed suicide. Unfortunately this is not an isolated incident and is a tragic indication of the current intense frustration and despair Tibetans are feeling inside Tibet.”
