Apart from the head and neck, an adult red breasted plumage has now very prominent on the juvenile robin in our garden.

The Villa Borghese is a public park in the Italian capital Rome. The very large park offers various museums, villas, pavilions, sculptures, landscaped gardens, a pond and the Temple of Aesculapius. In Greek mythology the god of medicine and healing. The estate has been in the possession of the Borghese family since 1580, as a small vineyard, but was expanded to its current size by purchasing adjacent farmlands and vineyards at the beginning of the seventeenth century. The full ownership of the Borghese family came into state ownership in 1901. The gardens were purchased by the municipality of Rome in 1903 and since then accessible to the public. The Zoo of Rome is also located in the park, which has recently been transformed into the Bioparco. At the entrance of Villa Borghese stands the Mostra dell 'Acqua Felix crowned by a lion built by Giovanni Fontana in 1610. The lion with the outstretched front legs as if holding a prey. On both sides of the wall two fountains have been placed for drinking water. Many Romans who refill their water bottles at the fountain.
We visit Rome on a hot summers day and temperatures soar to over 40ºC. Many Romans seek refreshment in the Villa Borghese park under the shade of trees. Life goes on at a slower pace. We took it slow amid region’s most intense heat wave and some even took it slower and fell asleep on a park bench.
De Villa Borghese is een openbaar park in de Italiaanse hoofdstad Rome. Het zeer grote park biedt naast de landschappelijk aangelegde tuinen diverse musea, villa's, paviljoenen, culpturen, vijver en de Tempel van Aesculapius. In de Griekse mythologie de god van geneeskunde en genezing. Het landgoed is sinds 1580, als een kleine wijngaard, in het bezit geweest van de familie Borghese, maar werd in het begin van de zeventiende eeuw door aankoop van aangrenzende landerijen en wijngaarden uitgebreid tot de huidige omvang. Het volledige bezit van de familie Borghese kwam in 1901 in staatsbezit. De tuinen zijn in 1903 aangekocht door de gemeente Rome en sindsdien toegankelijk voor het publiek. In het park ligt ten slotte nog de dierentuin van Rome, die recentelijk is getransformeerd tot het Bioparco. Bij de ingang van Villa Borghese staat de Felice fontein bekroond door een leeuw gebouwd door Giovanni Fontana in 1610. De leeuw met de uitgestoken voorpoten alsof ze een prooi vasthoudt. Aan beide zijden van de muur zijn twee fonteinen geplaatst voor drinkwater. Velen Romeinen die hun waterflessen gratis bijvullen bij Mostra dell’ Acqua Felix. We bezoeken Rome op een hete zomerdag en de temperatuur stijgt tot boven de 40ºC. Veel Romeinen zoeken verfrissing in het Villa Borghese-park in de schaduw van bomen. Het leven gaat in een langzamer tempo. We deden het rustig in de meest intense hittegolf in de regio. Sommige deden het nog rustiger aan en vielen in slaap op een bankje onder de boom in de schaduw.

A return to this little stretch of road. Honestly, if i wanted to I could post a photo from here every day or two, and they would all be a bit different...as the road and the atmosphere decide what I'm given. Sometimes I just can't help but shoot it...it draws me in.

After grabbing more of a posed shot last week I wanted to try and get back to my original goal of more candid lifestyle shots. Pheobe has her Dad wrapped around her little paw and here she is trying to puppy dog eye him into giving up some of what he was eating.
All good and nice, but after being expose to constant flashing on walls, you are on a verge of a seizure. To understand full effect - zoom in and out quickly a couple of times.
