We had a scare with our Lord Tyrion this week. He was eating less, having a hard time going to the bathroom, and was lethargic. We took Tyrion to the vet and discovered he has hyperthyroidism, which is treatable. Thanks to the meds, Tyrion is already back to his normal self.

More please. He gets fed up on this platform because I have to give him half a hyperthyroid pill a day and it is easier to disolve it into his food. Weasel doesn't steal his food when it is up here, at least not most of the time. He is doing ok with it now, even gaining back a little weight.

Rusty is not too keen on her new chicken flavoured liquid medication for hyperthyroidism ... but mix it with cream cheese and voila ... its gone! In her enthusiasm, this morning, Rusty got some doctored cream cheese on her noise.

Bobbie's story is too long to put here. She was diagnosed hyperthyroid in late winter, 2012. She takes Tapesole x2 daily to suppress thyroid hormone production. Cats with hyperthyroidism generally do not live to be very old re: thyroid meds sends the cat into renal failure and without the medication the cat will die so there is not much winning here. Bobbie's thyroid level is not in therapeutic range however she is feeling about 50% better than before medication was begun. She is also on subcu fluids about 3-4 times per week.
This evening's journaling was a time to unwind and focus on something soft and sweet-- Silver-- after a tough day. Silver is VERY squirmy and restless right now, though, so hard to sketch. She was just diagnosed as hyperthyroid, and she is truly HYPER. Hopefully the medication will help soon, as I think she's exhausting herself. The watercolor is from a photo, done without sketching first; the pen sketches were from life.
