Before travelling to Corsica, we spent two weeks in Hyères-L'Ayguade. The temperatures there ranged from 37 to 40 °C. So instead of walking and cycling, we spent a lot of time in the jacuzzi in the garden and also did a lot of reading in the shade. That also meant that at a certain point, we had to get some extra books. Librairie Olbia proved to have a fine choice of English language literature. And a fabulously graphic façade.

During a short bike tour, we encountered a vintage (50s) Berliet autocrane at a small marina. Used to hoist ships in and out of the water. The old-school weight scale on the articulated hook, displayed here, caught my attention.
Berliet was a French manufacturer of automobiles, buses, trucks and military vehicles, among other vehicles, based in Vénissieux, outside of Lyon, France. Founded in 1899, and apart from a five-year period from 1944 to 1949 when it was placed under 'administration sequestre', it remained in private ownership until 1967, when it became part of Citroën. It was subsequently acquired by Renault in 1974 and merged with Saviem to form a new Renault Trucks company in 1978. The Berliet marque was phased out by 1980. Source: Wiki

A full frontal of the vintage Berliet autocrane of the previous post. In this view it's interesting to see that the compact cabover (also known as CEO (Cab Over Engine) or flat face design of the Berliet evolved from the traditional lorry design with the engine in front of the cab (also known as T-cab or 'torpedo' front) – the radiator is housed in a rudimentary, ultra short hood.

Hyères les Palmiers. PACA region
I have been trying to capture my home town in the south of France. Probably one of my favourite places in the world for so many reasons and getting back there always brings back so many memories.

“Our ultimate day in Hyeres and finally the rain stopped, giving us some time to scout and plan this sunrise shoot of the salins which host Pink flamingos all over the year. #TranquilScene #Nature #Tree #Plant #Landscape #Cloud #Sea #Sunset #ScenicsNature #PalmTree #hyereslespalmiers #lessalins #sunrise_and_sunset #sunrise_photography #fine_art_photography #raw_seasons”
Probably one of my favourite place on earth, also one of the place that is closest to my heart. I love the south of France but Hyères one of the best place to experience it’s culture, food and scenery.
