Freshly emerged green collecting the rain in its own inimitable way. I'm always much more inclined to notice this in the spring when the new leaves are perfect and vigorous in their youth, and the droplets seem to serve as an appropriate adornment.

Some of the Hydrangeas are starting to change from their deep purple-blues to warm shades of yellows, pinks and greens. No amount of watering is going to reverse that inevitable decline, especially with the hot August weather daring me to use too much water.

Thirsty yearling moose. She was after the salt licks too. This heat wave is taking its toll on the animals. I've never seen them come to the house in summer, only winter. First she was drinking from my dog's pool then the automatic horse waterers. Too bad Rooster chased her away. Taken from my patio doors. I'm off to the chuckwagons races, catch up with y'all later.
