Plants shed water to the area under and around the plant using either up-turned or down-turned leaves, (depending on species), allowing their roots to take up the moisture. Contrary to popular belief, the epidermis of leaves do not absorb much water. Oxygen, carbon dioxide, and some water is absorbed from the atmosphere through stomata, which are organs that open and close to let in or let out CO2, and O2. They are found on the edges and underside of the leaf. A single image, hand-held.

Steve suggested I must have posed Molly in this winsome patch of sunlight, and although not beyond such manipulation, I actually didn't on this occasion. This is exactly where she chose to put herself while we waited for the brave explorer who was off in the bowels of a broken down building.
Rundle Mall - I like the strong colour contrasts and the subtle signs echoing the action - look carefully 😉
85% organic ap flour, 10% organic whole wheat flour, and 5% dark rye flour, with a very light exterior dusting of sesame seeds. I bumped the amount of starter up to see if the bread would come out a bit more sour, but it didn't. The bread is delicious, especially with a slathering of Irish butter. I think the two day ferment yielded more flavor than the minor adjustment to the starter.
My house smells of freshly baked bread, and THAT is a good thing.

One of the key points that is now understood is that you can begin to dehydrate before you feel thirsty. Rule One of hydration is: Drink before you think you need it. And, as with many things, little and often is usually the best way. The great advantage of modern hydration systems is that they make it easy and convenient to drink on the move and without upsetting your balance.
