Şirince (pronounced shirinjay) is a village of 600 inhabitants in İzmir Province, Turkey, located about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) east of the town Selçuk. Şirince was settled when Ephesus was abandoned in the 15th century but most of what one sees today dates from the 19th century. There is a story that the village was settled by freed Greek slaves who named the village Çirkince (meaning "Ugly" in Turkish) to deter others from following them. The village's name was changed to Şirince (meaning "Pleasant") in 1926 by the governor of Izmir Province.
The state of Maryland begins to wake for the busy morning rush hour of a warm Friday morning. Marc trains begin to fire up and bustle up and down the Northeast Corridor. Marc train 407 is no exception with it being in route for Washington, Union Station. We see 407 make a station stop here at Halethrope at around 5:55AM, with Marc HHP-8 #4910 shoving its way back down south.
Today’s post is from Barcelona’s chaotic and iconic La Rambla (Las Ramblas), which is a roughly 3/4 mile long street stretching from Placa de Catalunya to Port Vell. The street is divided into 5 different areas (all connected) with street performers, restaurants, and different wares for sale. A number of sights are located off La Rambla, including the famous Boqueria market, Placa Reial, and the Gran Theatre del Liceu.
This shot was taken during the blue hour near Placa de Catalunya – you can get a sense of just how busy this area is, especially in the early evening.

This is one of my favorite shots from Chinatown, during my recent trip to San Francisco. The entire trip was a wonderful opportunity to practice my street photography. If you'd like to read more (and see more) about my time in Chinatown, my friend Melly has narrated the most recent blog post! Check it out!
This is the main lobby of the Niagara Falls View Casino. There's a lot of foot traffic coming in and out of the Casino/Hotel so it's hard to get a solid image of just the main lobby.
Not overly happy with the photo, not displeased either. I'm going to have to give this lobby another shot when I get back down there in a few weeks.

The metro is the pulse point of New York's hustle and flow. It's a dynamic ecosystem where the ebb and flow of commuters seamlessly sync with the city's relentless pace. From dawn till dusk, the metro hums with a collective determination, creating a unique urban heartbeat that resonates through its tunnels.

One of the main streets leading to the 5 ways crossing in Shibuya, Tokyo. I should have composed this shot differently by including much more of the roof of the car in the foreground, but there's something I still liked about the shot.
