My grandfather's old bottle of Royall Spyce lotion sits nearly full in front of my new Hugo Boss wristwatch. Luxury runs in our family.

Liam Payne, born 1993, is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction. Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008.

This is a scene in the Leidsestraat in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The Leidsestraat is one of the main thoroughfares of the city, and no-one can avoid it who wants to see sights of the town such as the canals, the Rijksmuseum, The Van Gogh Museum, or who just wants to have coffee or a drink on the Leidseplein.

The Leidsestraat once had real Dutch character; but in a world of 'mondalisation', street decor increasingly becomes general. Huge international companies take over the scene and scenery. Thousands of streets much like this in all towns and cities of the world; little to distinguish them from each other.

The orginally German company 'Hugo Boss' of fashion is an example of a firm which 'glosses' over specific identiities - in this case of (un)clothing - and uniformises, as it were, our social and personal codes.

There's a beauty to these ads and at the same time a chilling generality and superficiality. The eye is drawn to glossiness and posed nonchalance, but a more careful perusal shows grafftiti reality and a dirty street. (here I am using the noun 'graffiti' as an adjective...!!!)

And still...

No, let's not go into detail about the backgronds - quite unsavory - which are just below the photo-surface of this shot! Thank goodness time moves on...

The number of trams with commercial livery has fallen sharply compared to previous years. All this as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. But (Hugo) Boss likes to use this medium to market his products. Combino 2101 put on the suit and passes here almost black and white in full color on line 4 over the Damrak.

This tram was delivered to the GVB on 10/09/2003 and first put into service on 26/09/2003 on line 4.

Due to the rainy weekend, I was playing with my camera indoors...

Perfume bottles work great! They are shiny and you can play with the light!

And then a little Photoshop and drink some coffee...A great Sunday after all!

Linking people together, with Internet that phrase took all it sens, today in only few seconds we can be in touch with people who are located all around the world.

We share, exchange, collaborate on subjects as vast and varied.

In the world of design and photography, we take inspiration from all the creative brains of the world, we are leveraging each other's knowledge to the benefit of all. Each person constructs a part of the building, each of these parts bears the personal touch of its creator. So each year, all together, we enrich what I call the World Heritage of Creativity.

That's what I wanted to portray in this artwork, where a person's mind is one with the others, connected by cables of knowledge.

We are our future ...

I wish you a wonderful year 2011, can you realize your wishes!

My best regards !

Greetings

T.

Rodeo Drive | Beverly Hills 10/12/2009 13h13

We did do some window shopping at this shopping area of course.

Rodeo Drive

Rodeo Drive of Beverly Hills, California is a shopping district famous for designer label and haute couture fashion. The name generally refers to a three-block long stretch of boutiques and shops but the street stretches further north and south.

Back when California was part of Mexico, on August 3, 1769, Don José Gaspar de Portolà, the first governor of provincial California, and his entourage, the Portola expedition, became the first Europeans known to arrive in the area, having traveled an existing Indian trail (present-day Wilshire Boulevard) to the present-day site of La Cienega Park, named for a large swamp — "ciénega" in Spanish — and namesake of adjacent La Cienega Boulevard. The Tongva ("Gabrieleño") people living there considered it to be a holy site because of its precious commodity, water, and the abundant food supply it provided. Their name for the site, "the Gathering of the Waters", translates to Spanish as "El Rodeo de las Aguas."

In 1906, Burton E. Green and other investors purchased the property with plans for a mixed-use subdivision. With a nod to the region's heritage, they named their company the Rodeo Land and Water Company and the development's main street Rodeo Drive. However, the main force to Beverly Hills as the exclusive shopping area it is today was the star stud boutique, Giorgios .The shopping district as presently constituted developed in the 1970s. The business district, which extends from Wilshire Boulevard to Santa Monica Boulevard, is an exclusive shopping district, but also a major tourist attraction. The "Rodeo Drive" business district also includes those businesses on the streets that lie for a few blocks in either direction. Some of the more famous retailers include Giorgio Armani, Bang & Olufsen, Bally, Bottega Veneta, Bijan, Brioni, Bulgari, Buccellati, Burberry, Brooks Brothers, Cartier, Chanel, CHANEL fine jewelry, Christian Dior, Coach, David Orgell, David Yurman, DeBeers, Dior Homme, Dolce & Gabbana, Domenico Vacca, Ermenegildo Zegna, Escada, Etro, Fendi, Frette, Gucci, Gucci jewelry, Guess, Gianfranco Ferré, Harry Winston, Hermès, Hugo Boss, Jimmy Choo, Judith Ripka, Juicy Couture, Lacoste, Lana Marks, La Perla, Louis Vuitton, Max Azria, Max Mara, Michael Kors, Miu Miu, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli, Salvatore Ferragamo, Sergio Rossi, Stuart Weitzman, Tiffany & Co., Tod's, Valentino, Van Cleef & Arpels, Versace, Westime, Yves Saint-Laurent, and Omega Watches.
