Hi everyone meet Hugo. Hugo this is everyone. Despite looking like the alien out of ET (Showing my age there) Hugo is a 70 year old Galapagos giant turtle who lives at the Australian Reptile Park on the Central,Coast. He is the longest term resident of the park. Hugo will live to 150 years old, he is fully grown now and weights 180kg!
Another animal I love. And who doesn’t like turtles! 🐢
I did go to the library to ask for a book to read about them. The librarian asked me “hardback?” I said yes , with a little head. Don’t know why she got annoyed 😉
Edit: There is quite a love story attached to Hugo involving younger ladies, overseas romance and long-awaited meetings. Here is a snippet form the park page :)
Coming all the way from Zoo Rostock Germany is Estrella the Galapagos tortoise, a beautiful 21-year-old female who Hugo met after the Australian Reptile Park put him on dating app Tinder back in 2019. The introduction exceeded all expectations with the pair not leaving each other’s side since the moment they met. Estrella spent her three months in quarantine, Hugo and Estrella were able to see each other via a series of FaceTime dates set up by their keepers.
I reckon it's such a sweet love story, but I believe they are taking things slowly ....

Victor Hugo lived on Guernsey from 1856 to 1870 in exile. It's where he wrote 'Les Miserables'. The bench depicts his novel 'Toilers of the Sea' which he dedicated to Guernsey. Posing with my wife and The Western Valley Swing Band.

Es nuestro pequeño Hugo, nuestro regalo de Navidad.
Algunos ya sabiais que estabamos esperandole y la verdad nos sentimos muy felices de tenerle ya con nosotros,sobretodo Jayra que esta con el que se lo quiere comer.
Como imaginareis no dispongo de mucho tiempo con el trabajo que da un recien nacido aunque os dire que es un SOL que se porta de maravilla, nada que ver con lo que esperabamos de él.
Bueno intentare ir poniendome al día con si la vuelta al trabajo me lo permite.

Die Alsenbrücke im Zentrum von Berlin nahe dem früheren Lehrter Bahnhof war eine eiserne Mehrgewölbe-Brücke zur Überquerung der Spree und des südlichen Bereiches des Humboldthafens. Die erste Brücke entstand Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts, danach folgten Ersatzbauten. Die zuletzt 1928 fertiggestellte dritte Brücke besaß keine südliche Anbindung zur Alsenstraße und war damit keine Spreebrücke mehr. Das neue Bauwerk erhielt den Namen Hugo-Preuß-Brücke und wurde 1933 umbenannt in Admiral-Scheer-Brücke. Am Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs zerstört, wurde diese Straßenbrücke rund 50 Jahre nicht wieder aufgebaut. Erst im Jahr 2002 ließ die Berliner Senatsverwaltung eine neue Straßenbrücke an der alten Stelle errichten. Sie führt die nun Rahel-Hirsch-Straße genannte Uferstraße wieder über den Zufahrtskanal zum Humboldthafen. Im Jahr 2005 wurde dem Neubau der Name Hugo-Preuß-Brücke neu verliehen.
Das weiße Gebäude ist das Humboldthafen Eins und wurde im Sommer 2015 als erstes Gebäude an der Südost-Ecke des Humboldthafenbeckens eröffnet. Es beherbergt seither den Berliner Sitz der Wirtschaftsprüfergesellschaft PricewaterhouseCoopers und das Hauptstadtbüro von MSD Sharp & Dohme.
Das Gebäude zeichnet sich durch ein besonders effizientens Energiemanagement mit integriertem Blockheizkraftwerk und Wärmerückgewinnungs-lüftungsanlagen aus.

On an overcast Saturday morning, Southern Pacific's Glendale Hauler is rolling through Hugo, Oregon on the Siskiyou Line. This job went to work in Grants Pass, and will flip back to its home terminal after it reaches its namesake Glendale.
Note the loaded chip cars in the train. On days when SP's Medford to Eugene road freight was running, the hauler would often carry eastbound loads from Grants Pass to Glendale. This saved the road job having to haul the additional tonnage over two summits.
