Belltower of the most ancient church in Wien.
Excerpt from www.casavant.ca/opus/saemoonan-presbyterian-church-en/:
Established as the first Korean protestant church, Saemoonan Presbyterian built a new church on Sinmunno, Gwanghwamun, celebrating its 132nd anniversary.
Considered as the Mother of all churches in the country, the new church is a large multi-story building offering many services and where functionalism is the top priority. It was articulated around four major themes: 1. The historicity as the mother church of Korean Protestant churches, 2. The symbolism of doors opened to heaven, 3. The spatiality of expressing Christ as light, 4. Presenting a water space as a meaning of baptism and harmony. “Loving God” and Loving Neighbors” themes in mind, the shape of the new building resembles a mother stretched out toward the sky.

I spent the weekend with my Uncle out shooting on saturday at his cottage up in the Kawartha's in Ontario.
Between the two of us we probably took over 1200 photos of everything from long exposure night shots to flowers, wildlife and sun rises and sunsets...
I am not generally one ot post images of flowers but here is my contribution to Macro Mondays and a little tip o' the hat to mother nature for bringing spring to us a little early this year

Excerpt from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C5%8Dko-en:
Kōko-en (好古園) is a Japanese garden located next to Himeji Castle in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan.
It was constructed in 1992 at the site of the lord's west residence, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Himeji municipality. In 2017, Koko-en signed a sister garden agreement with Ro Ho En, the Japanese Friendship Garden, in its sister city, Phoenix, Arizona.
The garden is about 3.5 hectares and has nine different gardens.
Asha's second account - Asha's first account
I thought it about time I uploaded a recent picture of Ashala taken on a wet at the bottom of our garden, standing proudly on a recently laid patio which isn't quite finished yet.

Excerpt from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Almanor:
Lake Almanor is a large reservoir in northwestern Plumas County, northeastern California, United States. The reservoir has a capacity of 1,308,000 acre-feet (1.613×109 m3) and a maximum depth of about 90 feet (27 meters). The surface area is 43.75 square miles (11,331.2 hectares). It is formed by Canyon Dam on the North Fork of the Feather River, as well as Benner and Last Chance Creeks, Hamilton Branch, and various natural springs.
The dam is 130 feet (40 m) tall and composed of hydraulic fill.
The first dam was completed by Great Western Power in 1914 as part of the Upper North Fork Feather River Project, damming the North Fork of the Feather River and flooding the meadow-filled valley generally known as Nakam Koyo/Big Meadows/Big Springs, a longstanding Yamani Maidu village site. When the dam was built, Maidu families still living in the vicinity were displaced, while parts of the town of Prattville had to be moved to higher ground, leaving multiple structures flooded over. The reservoir was named for the three daughters of Guy C. Earl, Vice President of Great Western Power: Alice, Martha and Eleanor. The present dam, which more than doubled the lake's size, was constructed by Great Western Power from 1926 to 1927.
The dam is now owned by Pacific Gas and Electric Company. PG&E uses it for hydroelectricity production, but the lake is also a popular recreation area, with fishing, boating, water skiing, swimming and camping available.
The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has issued safe eating advice based on mercury for fish caught from Lake Almanor.

inspired by this amazing girl! check out her photostream, you'll see what i mean :D
okay, i am so proud of this! which sounds a little conceited, but it's completely true.
normally i never have the energy for waking up early to catch a sunrise, but today i did! and it was the most amazing thing :)
i'm not even sure why i uploaded this....apparently i only have 20 pictures left to upload before i "have to upgrade to pro account or i'll only be able to view my 200 most recent pictures". which i guess wouldn't be a bad thing, but for some reason i'm being a little paranoid about it and don't want to go over my non-pro-account limit.
the best thing is, today is saturday :)
EXPLORED! wow, this is my first non-365 day shot that has gotten explored. thank you!
Don't Give Up - Peter Gabriel et Kate Bush
in this proud land we grew up strong
we were wanted all along
I was taught to fight, taught to win
I never thought I could fail
no fight left or so it seems
I am a man whose dreams have all deserted
I've changed my face, I've changed my name
but no one wants you when you lose
don't give up
'cos you have friends
don't give up
you're not beaten yet
don't give up
I know you can make it good
though I saw it all around
never thought I could be affected
thought that we'd be the last to go
it is so strange the way things turn
drove the night toward my home
the place that I was born, on the lakeside
as daylight broke, I saw the earth
the trees had burned down to the ground
don't give up
you still have us
don't give up
we don't need much of anything
don't give up
'cause somewhere there's a place
where we belong
rest your head
you worry too much
it's going to be alright
when times get rough
you can fall back on us
don't give up
please don't give up
'got to walk out of here
I can't take anymore
going to stand on that bridge
keep my eyes down below
whatever may come
and whatever may go
that river's flowing
that river's flowing
moved on to another town
tried hard to settle down
for every job, so many men
so many men no-one needs
don't give up
'cause you have friends
don't give up
you're not the only one
don't give up
no reason to be ashamed
don't give up
you still have us
don't give up now
we're proud of who you are
don't give up
you know it's never been easy
don't give up
'cause I believe there's the a place
there's a place where we belong

One of a dozen of new matted and signed arrivals to Picture Your Walls Western New York ...
New Arrivals of Daniel Novak Photo in Picture Your Walls
This was the special evening in October (October 23, 2014) when the partial solar eclipse was visible from the waterfront of Buffalo, NY at sunset time. I was both excited about the time of day as well as concerned. Having the eclipse happen at the sunset time put it low on the horizon. That meant a chance of the sun piercing through the haze over the lake hopefully lowering its intensity, making it look bigger, and possibly a giant red ball. If that worked, there was a chance of including some foreground silhouettes. I was concerned that a low thick layer of clouds might obstruct it altogether.
My plan was to try to photograph the eclipse in a way that would give it a sense of place. I wanted the photo to scream "eclipse over Buffalo". For that reason I headed to the Erie Basin Marina and wanted to include the lighthouse in the photo. Looking at the Photographer's Ephemeris (TPE) angles looked good for including both the sun and the Main Light in a single frame.
In the end, it all worked in its own way with no regards to my plans :-) The sky was ...
I visited South Lakes wild animal park yesterday with my fiancee. I dopped her off at 7:45am because I had bought her a present of zoo keeper for the day which she thoroughly enjoyed although she has found muscles that she did not know existed today...lol!! I went off to Coniston water (more of which later) and returned to the park at 10am. This male and female Sumatran tigers had just finished "holding hands" when the female underneath decided enough hand holding was enough!!
