Freshly dissolved in some frozen devotion
No more alone or myself could I be
Lurch like a strain to the arms that were open
No shortage of sordid, no protest from me
With her sweetened breath, and her tongue so mean
She's the angel of small death and the codeine scene
With her straw-blonde hair, her arms hard and lean
She's the angel of small death and the codeine scene
I'm back. And more myself than ever.
I had the opportunity to photograph the Pope's visit to Ireland but there was little point in doing so as there were so many expert and professional photographers from all parts of the World that could produce much better results than I could.
I really needed to find a different angle and this morning I received it when I was contacted by Darragh Doyle inviting me to an event at the Garden Of Remembrance at Parnell Square which is less than five minutes from my apartment.
The event featured the following: Colm O'Gorman, Hozier, Villagers, Mary Coughlan, Sarah Clancy, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Susie Q, Grace Dyas, Marian Keyes, Brian Kennedy, Mary Black and Lankum.
I would like to mention that I decided to switch from Canon DSLR to mirrorless in 2010 when I first purchased a Sony NEX-5. The process has taken about eight years and my current camera is a Sony A7RIII. Over the last eighteen months I have spent a lot of cash acquiring top class lenses and I am still learning how best to such glass so some of my photographs may not be as good as they should but i have included them in order to give a feel of what the event was like.
At a later date I will upload a second batch of images featuring the performers mentioned above.
