Looking back through my favourite images from 2019, this is one that I would certainly add. Irish musician Hozier performing at Electric Picnic, Ireland's largest music festival. And those flames were hot in the press pit.

Correct me I have incorrectly the performers as being members of the Villagers.

Villagers are an Irish indie folk band from Dublin, formed in 2008. As well as songwriter and vocalist/guitarist Conor O'Brien, the band currently consists of Danny Snow (bass, upright bass), Cormac Curran (keyboards), Gwion Llewelyn (drums, flugelhorn) and Mali Llywelyn (harp).

The band came to prominence in 2010 with the release of their debut album, Becoming a Jackal. Released to critical acclaim, the album was shortlisted for the 2010 Mercury Prize and the Choice Music Prize. The band's second studio album, {Awayland} was released in 2013. It won the Choice Music Prize that year and was also shortlisted for the 2013 Mercury Prize. In 2015 they released their third album, Darling Arithmetic, and the following year Where Have You Been All My Life? - a compilation of live reworkings of some of the band's best-known tracks. In May 2016 Darling Arithmetic won the Ivor Novello award for Best Album.

I had the opportunity to photograph the Pope's visit to Ireland but there was little point in doing so as there were so many expert and professional photographers from all parts of the World that could produce much better results than I could.

I really needed to find a different angle and this morning I received it when I was contacted by Darragh Doyle inviting me to an event at the Garden Of Remembrance at Parnell Square which is less than five minutes from my apartment.

The event featured the following: Colm O'Gorman, Hozier, Villagers, Mary Coughlan, Sarah Clancy, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Susie Q, Grace Dyas, Marian Keyes, Brian Kennedy, Mary Black and Lankum.
