Howth, Dublin
Howth has been a fishing village for a long time. Since the 14th century, if Wiki is to be believed, and it's usually credible. It's ten minutes by train from where we live so we're lucky. I love the place and though this song isn't speciflcally about fishing I always associate it with Howth. I've tried to sing it with rudimentary guitar but it's impossible to capture what Mícheál Ó Domhnaill captures in his version of the song.
