CP H17 with a variety pack of power strolls thru Howland on its way home from Spence.
The belated snowfall hitting in late March making for some snow scenes even after its officially spring. Makes up slightly for a very brown winter season.
The engineer on this eastbound has the dynamic brake handle in the corner, as they howl downgrade into Watertown, slowing for the diamond with Union Pacific's Clyman sub.

The moon shot - I had this shot on the shelf until I was able to post process it the way I visioned it at the time.
I remember wanting a moon shot, but a little more interest to it. I finally saw this scene and captured it. I think it's pretty cool. :)

Howl was originally a performance piece in 1956. In 1958 a small chapbook was printed by City Light Books and sometime in 1958 I showed up at their store and bought a copy which I still have. When I was 18 I thought this was a great poem...now, maybe an interesting poem. In any case for some reason I thought of it and this little piece showed up.

Visiting Yellowstone in the winter can be a very rewarding experience. We were watching this Coyote mill about when he decided to walk up to this ledge and let out a great big howl. As he did that, we could hear the return howls from at least a dozen other coyotes through the valley. It was an amazing experience and I'm so glad I came away with a picture to remember it by.
