Hoverflies, sometimes called flower flies or syrphid flies, make up the insect family Syrphidae. As their common name suggests, they are often seen hovering or nectaring at flowers; the adults of many species feed mainly on nectar and pollen, while the larvae (maggots) eat a wide range of foods.

We went to Hoverfly after a series of visits to model shops looking for remote/radio controlled cars - a long term research project for birthdays and Christmas a long time off. We were redirected and filtered here by friendly men in shops stuffed to the gunnels with eccentric toys from all over the world. The shop has been open just over six months, it's full of pretty wonderful things that and boys and dads will LOVE. Trevor's the owner, incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating. A genuine star. Go there and BUY STUFF!
