[NOTE: THIS MODEL IS ACTUALLY 5 YEARS OLD - I MADE IT TO MARK THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY. AND NOW IT'S 30 YEARS, AND ACTUALLY OCTOBER 21ST 2015!!]
Almost exactly 25 years ago, Marty McFly made his historic journery through time in the classic Sci-Fi comedy blockbuster movie Back to the Future. And all this week, www.weregoingback.com is commemorating this anniversary with a Hollywood gala of special events and reunions, celebrating the entire BTTF movie trilogy (which has also just been remastered and released on Blu Ray, btw).
So here is my little contribution to the occasion, a recreation of Marty McFly and Griff Tannen in the epic hoverboard chase sequence from the 2nd installment of BTTF.

Even before meeting Mewi he was often apprehended by Vahki patrols for illegal street racing. Now he's got a gang just as reckless as he at his back, and there's nothing he won't dare try.

Sad Clown spent all his savings on the new hoverboard only to learn that the UK has banned its use on public roads because they do not meet the legal requirement to be safely used among other traffic. And even riding on the sidewalk is against the law. The Department of Transport said that the board could only be legally used in one's backyard or on private land, and riding on the pavement is an offence under the 180-year-old Highway Act.

The web slinger has got an upgrade on the old hoverboard from Back to the Future 2. This one reaches heights high into the air and above skyscrapers. Catching villains will be so much easier now.

A revamp of an older MOC and their hoverboard. I wanted more emphasis on small highlights this time. The board can also switch between a show mode and a stealth mode.

thanks to a special structure I crafted for this it really "hovered" about 5 inches above the board (or at least appeared to=))

Neighbor's yard. This family has 3 young boys and a girl. The boys are addicted to wheels, from dawn to dusk.
This is the new fleet on a very warm Christmas morning. Middle boy was out in his PJs as soon as the gifts were open, apparently, trying them out. Motorized 'car' was 1st. He took it for one spin and then went for the Fliker. Stayed with that for quite a while.
Dogwalking in Whitstable. Of course Catman's Queen can also be seen in Portobello Road - there's a snap of it somewhere else in my photostream - but I prefer this location. Fits nicely.
Paveway is a welding specialist who works on the Hero Factory's high altitude solar generation plants. Her thick armor and environmental control systems allow for extended operations in the frigid radioactive abyss of near-space. She is equipped with a hoverboard that can transform into a quad-rotor drone, and an arc rifle that can double as her welder.
Back to the Future Courthouse Hall Park (CE 2018)

For the 2018 Calgary Expo SALUG decided to do a Back to the Future diorama, representing a section of Hill Valley as it changed throughout the years between the 3 movies. I was asked to do the park in front of Courthouse Hall from 2015 (BTTF 2), and another member built the Courthouse Hall to go behind my park.
I scanned through all the parts of the movie where the park was shown, frame by frame to get a good idea of the layout. The footprint I was given was not scaled to the actual size of the park (square vs. rectangular), so I had to adjust things to fit, and actually ended up rough planning it in PowerPoint - first/only time I've ever done that.
It turned out alright, and I especially enjoyed creating a new style of tree and doing the foliage/flowers. It was only ever shown at this event, and taken apart shortly after.
I got the “Hover Boards” from a toy capsule machine at the grocery store. I guess they ran out of ideas.
The Joker got the Hulk and the Red Skull as volunteers to test the hover boards.
It did not go well!

A Vo-Toa formerly in service to the late Hand of Artakha. She's skilled in combat atop her hoverboard, though is fully capable of unmounted combat.
She's equipped with a copper-tipped glaive and mask of rebounding, which allows her glaive to double as a spear.
So yeah this is the end result, for now, of a project I started over a year ago. I wanted to make a torso utilizing the Dragon Bolt head piece, and I also wanted to make a toa utilizing the corrupted mask of ice. I think I accomplished both of these goals.
This is the first Torso I've ever made from scratch, and I'm quite proud of it.
I may improve upon her in the future, as I know one of my goals is to have an actual coat/cloak made for her, similar in style to a previous picture I took of her.
So yeah....
