This is a typical fishermen dwelling (called rorbuen) in Lofoten. This one is located in the neighbourhood of Reine, but the model of houses remains similar on the whole Lofoten archipelago.

Dionysus also spelled Dionysos, also called Bacchus, a nature god of fruitfulness and vegetation, especially known as a god of wine and ecstasy.

Wine was a religious focus in the cult of Dionysus and was his earthly incarnation. Wine could ease suffering, bring joy, and inspire divine madness.

If he somehow came to Pyles, he would probably like to be hosted here, with the green vine deeply rooted next to the blue door of the old stone house.

I haven't seen a lot of house sparrows around since working from home - there is a spot in downtown Portland where I could count on finding them, but I don't get down there anymore. Nice to see one at Commonwealth.

House Male Sparrows Bird.

Originally I thought this was a boat house because it looks like it is in the water. It has a chimney and windows though. It is constructed of wood and metal. The door seems to be too big for a house and too small for a boat. There are two buckets hanging on either side of the door. It couldn’t be a barn because you would have to take the animals through the water to get them inside. I’m stumped!

I have to find a picture of something that I can identify. There are just no write ups on these old buildings.

House Fire it was on fire when I got there actually this was a controlled burn by the local Fire Department so they could practice.

A plain brown bird with an effervescent voice, the House Wren is a common backyard bird over nearly the entire Western Hemisphere. Listen for its rush-and-jumble song in summer and you’ll find this species zipping through shrubs and low tree branches, snatching at insects. House Wrens will gladly use nestboxes, or you may find their twig-filled nests in old cans, boots, or boxes lying around in your garage.

I did this one awhile ago...In going through my archives, I found it and thought I'd post it just for fun.

I made the little paper houses, and took them outside and put tea candles in each one. I wasn't surprised when one started burning, so took advantage of it. The rest of them stayed intact and are waiting for new occupants :)
