Today's story and sketch by me #1393, is another exciting story about two more Zombi Scarecrows, that mysteriously showed up last night, on our Tropical Volcanic Planet we call Budahunga, they probably dropped out of a dimension portal. Where they were picked up, on what Planet or what Dimension, would be interesting to know. This phenomenon of Scarecrows, and other spooky things, like batches of Punkn's Spider's has been occurring quite often lately. Undoubtedly because some entity that controls the various Black Holes, Dimension Portals, and the Big Blue Dimension Dust Devils, and many other time and space phenomenon, that rewrite reality. Must get a kick out of dropping things on Budahunga. We have just flown to the scene, Myself Deputy JB, and Arlo, a recent arrival, who himself was dropped out of a Blue Dimension Dust Devil last month. Arlo is very knowledgeable about all things Zombie, having spent time on many Agricultural Moons, where the Rutabaga farming is done by Zombies. Rutabaga's, it seems are a favorite food of Zombies, who knew. Also true, Rutabaga's are it seems, a favorite snack of the Ravenous Rutabaga Ravens. Until next time Tata the Rod Blog.
Im not going to lie... 7282 is hands down my favorite loco - she is an absolute rocket-ship!
Sure... the EF class electrics are nothing short of superb, and yes, I have many fond memories yahooing milk trains through the Taranaki badlands with our GE C30-7 varients on the point... but nothing hits quite like sending 7282 full cry through the suburbs at max line speed while doing my best to keep scheduled time!
I have had the pleasure of driving 7282 all week this week hauling the Palmerston North to Wellington regional passenger train, the "Capital Connection", and she has performed flawlessly.
7282 is also the same loco that I spent 99% of my time driving while training for my passenger certification, and is the same loco that I completed my passenger ticket "sign off" runs in, so there is also a certain level of sentiment there too..
We have several DFB class locos in our region, but IMHO - 7282 is unquestionably the best of the fleet!
I wont bore you all with the details of how good she rides, how responsive her throttle is or how well her brake gear reacts - you will just have to trust me on that...
My hotrod...
Today's story and sketch "by me" we are visiting the latest Tiki Oasis, one of many that seem to appear overnight around the Mohave Desert.
I was told they are created by Aliens from the Planet Wikitikki, the same aliens that have been responsible for carving crop circles for hundreds of years.
I was told by our Blog friend Rescue Randy, the most informed and interesting living tissue crash test dummy in the galaxy, also a friend of the Wikitikkians, told Randy they were bored with crop circles, and the fact that not many crops will grow in the Mohave, because of the 140 degree daytime temperatures, and lack of water, they took Randy's suggestion of using their Wikitikki water well technology, and love of their native Wikitikki Palms and tiki's to dig some wells, for the hundreds of the deserts Gypsies, goat herders, Bail jumpers,
disbarred attorneys, off the grid desert dwellers, and retired
mail carriers, and create a few oasis and plant Wikitikki Palms and Tiki's for them to enjoy, which has worked out well for JB and Randy who are taking tourists on very expensive Tiki Tours in JB's Choppers to see the latest Oasis.

Today's story and sketch by me #1427, is a story that is quite Amazing, because it concerns a banana poacher, that somehow travels through dimensions, and arrives here on our Tropical Volcanic Planet we call Budahunga, riding a time machine. I have seen him appear out of a misty blue fog, then travel at a high rate of speed, to one of our banana trees, not just any banana tree, but one of our most prized and rare Stripped Budahunga Maia Manini Banana Tree's. What makes these bananas so special is the swirled stripes are a dark chocolate. Today as you can see I had just shimmied down a Maia Manini, with a clutch of bananas, and was about to ride back to Headquarters, when the Mysterious Time Traveler popped out of a misty blue fog just in front of me. But just as we made eye contact, he flew one hundred feet into a Blue Fog, that appeared out of nowhere. Who this time traveling Dude is, and why he is stealing our Budahunga Maia Manini Bananas, will be an investigation for another time, until then Tata the Rod Blog.
Today's story and sketch "by me", started this morning the usual way enjoying a cup of coffee sitting at my drawing table in the Man Cave looking at the overnight intergalactic faxes, when I noticed a Bolo Alert "be on the lookout" addressed most urgent to JB the greatest bounty hunter in the Cosmos, an Rescue Randy the most interesting living tissue crash test dummy in the galaxy, and the number one expert on identifying the many hundreds of varieties of Beaked Beings from the Aves Constellation. This morning's Bolo was for Ace and Slim, two Tropicinian Beaked Beings from the Planet Phatondi who hijacked a intergalactic freighter full of Moon Pies on route to "WHI1", Worm Hole Interchange One" the largest Space Portal and food court in this part of the Cosmos. The Tropicinian hijackers were just spotted in Pasadena California where they have opened a moon pie take away on Foothill boulevard. And sure enough the two Greb tourists that spotted Ace called the hijacker reward hot line and are talking to them, just as you see JB'S chopper and Randy's glider arriving to arrest them, pay the tourists Five thousand dollars and as a bonus Randy will give them the thirty nine Ford coupe to take back to Podicipidi their home Planet, until next time taa ta the Rod Blog.

A view of a 1941 Willys Coupe hot rod.
The car itself was a baby-blue color. Given the vintage of the subject, I wanted to do something in monochrome. However, I gave it a light blue tone in honor of its original color.
This photo is part of my effort to effectively use wide angle lenses. I'm still learning that aspect of photography.

The hose that is connedted to the engine is not original LEGO, but I like it's color. ;)
Hope you like it ;)
