While reviewing some video tutorials I made I noticed how boring some of them were. So I'm going to add some animation and maybe a "host" character to help spice them up a bit.

On Thursday, December 7, Dartmouth alumni and families attended a remarkable event at London's Design Museum with senior leaders of the College including Dean of the Thayer School of Engineering Joe Helble, Dean of the Tuck School of Business Matt Slaughter, and Vice President for Alumni Relations Martha Beattie ’76. The evening, hosted by Zdenek Bakala Tu’89, celebrated the 2017 awarding of the Queen Elizabeth Prize in Engineering to Professor of Engineering Eric Fossum.

Faith leaders from around the world will meet at Windsor at an event hosted by HRH The Prince Philip and attended by the Secretary General of the United Nations, His Excellency Mr Ban Ki-moon. The aim is to launch and discuss their long term initiatives to Protect the Living Planet. The Celebration comes a month before the Copenhagen Climate Change talks in December.
The Celebration - a Summit of Religious and Secular leaders - will launch dozens of long-term commitments by all the major faith traditions. These Commitments cover for example: all Daoist Temples in China solar powered; creating faith-based eco-labelling systems in Islam, Hinduism and Judaism; greening all types of religious buildings; protecting sacred forests; developing ethical investment policies; printing sacred books on environmentally-friendly paper; creating educational programmes through the faiths' major role in both formal and informal education.
Just over a year ago, ARC and UNDP launched the unique partnership to help faiths make these long-term plans and commitments. The commitments are related to the fundamental problem of our abuse of nature - of which climate change is one major symptom. While the proximity of the Copenhagen COP is important, these faith commitments will take place whatever does or does not happen at Copenhagen.
Windsor marks the largest ever commitment by the faiths to environmental action. To partner with them ARC and UNDP have invited key secular environmental organisations to commit to work side by side with the faiths. From this initiative new collaborations are already being planned.

DALLAS – AHF hosted a grand opening event on Saturday, April 19 in Dallas to mark the opening of the city’s Out of the Closet Thrift Store. These unique thrift stores are not only home to a wealth of unique finds, but also support global AIDS care by cycling 96 cents of every dollar earned into supporting AHF clinics serving over 300,000 people around the world. Therefore, anyone who donates to or purchases from an Out of the Closet Thrift Store is directly helping AHF fight to end the global HIV/AIDS epidemic.
The Host project suggests that for a moment we abandon our anthropomorphic worldview and think about life (well actually think about sex) from the perspective of an insect. We are invited to join an audience of 200 live crickets, who are attending a very serious scientific lecture on the sex life of insects, which we quickly realise is rather more complex and interesting than our own! One screen shows the heavily pixelated talking-head of the scientist, the other an image of an oscilloscope signal. The oscilloscope image with its crackling sound-track was obtained under laboratory conditions and is a direct recording of the electrical activity in the aural nerve centre of a cricket listening to the sex lecture. From one perspective the creature becomes a type of electro-physiological microphone—but at a deeper metaphorical level we are asked to re-consider our own perceptual assumptions about the world.
