This is an old abandoned barn that I found in Brockville, Ontario. There is an old farm house across the driveway which caught fire in November. The homeowner was home at the time and escaped without injury. Ever since then this barn has not been used.

My life, as you know, has turned into quite a personal horror story for me over the past few months and that comes on top of the much longer slow-burning horror of living with C-PTSD.

Some of you have expressed a wish to help, financially, through this difficult time.

I have been reluctant to make the means available because I don't want to appear to be begging for help.

My thoughts are changed somewhat by something I was told today. That I share my "extraordinary" work here and that I enjoy encouraging and receiving encouragement from others. That perhaps there are many people here that would like to continue to see my photographs and help me to continue to share them.

When I am able I will obviously consider ways and means to rebuild my photography career from it's 2019 "pre-pandemic" peak. In the meantime I face costs that I can ill-afford just to maintain my love of photography. The biggest crux being expensive Internet options while I am in temporary accommodation.

With this in mind I have created a "Donate" function through PayPal.

I have two more edits that I am going to post of it. I particularly like this rendition due to the scary atmosphere. It is almost like it belongs in a horror story or movie.

I thought at first that I had a nightmare but when I woke up I figure it out that my finger was injured & my camera was damaged too. I checked my camera and I notice only one creepy photo that I never made… I saw this scary image. I always thought that Chucky is just a fictional character. I figure it out that blood on his knife is probably my blood. I can’t solve this mystical riddle…

Aprovechando mi estancia por las serranas tierras de Yeste (Albacete), decidí salir en solitario en mitad de la escuridad en pos de algún digno sujeto que fotografiar, y hete aquí que fui a dar con aquesta terrorífica criatura de la noche, que iba dejando el horroroso rastro de las suyas fechorías tras de sí. Afortunadamente, con el arrojo que caracteriza a la mía persona y en uno de los míos acostumbrados arrebatos de valentía, atiné a ofrecerme a facerle un retrato y, para magna sorpresa de mi merced, el abominable engendro procedió a posar, un tanto ufano y presumido, ante mi cámara bajo el estrellado cielo. "La próxima vez que nos veamos, te daré una copia", aún fui capaz de tener la frialdad de decirle. Estoy seguro que fue gracias a ello que perdonó mi vida y me dejó ir... Moraleja: siempre que puedas evitarlo, nunca salgas solo en la oscuridad, pues la noche es escura y alberga magnos horrores... :-D

I tried to take advantage to the maximum of my stay in Yeste (Albacete, Spain), so I decided to make myself a night photographic outing alone, through the wild and mountainous local countryside. When I was searching for some interesting photographic subjects in the middle of the night, I came across this hideous creature of the dark, leaving behind him a truly trail of horror; so, brave as I am, in a fit of courage I offered to take a portrait of him and, to my great surprise, he kindly obliged, posing slightly smug facing off in front of my camera under the starry sky "Next time we meet, I'll give you a print", I said. I believe that, because of all these events, he decided to spare my life and let me go. The lesson here is never go out alone at night when you can help it, as the night is dark and full of terrors... :-D

Cleveland's only suspension style bridge which was built in 1931. The area underneath the bridge is known as Kingsbury Run; the site of the unsolved "Torso" murders in the 1930's.
