Although I like the previous image more, this one still has quite a lot of merit to it. I like the wave covering the entire bottom 3rd of the frame, as well as the bird naturally in the top left corner. The wings were clipped in other images in the series but are intact here, not to mention the legs kicking the water.
Been focused on other projects but will probably return and search for more White-eyed gulls soon.

I spotted this little chickadee flitting around in a tree overhead. Eventually, it settled on a branch, and hopped from place to place along the branch, pecking at the wood.
This adorable warbling vireo hopped out of a dense dogwood thicket where it had been eating some ripe berries and perched right out in the open to give me a friendly smile.

The White-headed wood-hoopoe (Phoeniculus bollei) is a species of bird in the family Phoeniculidae.
These birds inhabit from sea level up to 3,200 metres (10,500 ft), mainly in savannas and dry flowland and in montane primary forest, but they are also found in regenerating forests, as well as in deciduous woodlands.
Phoeniculus bollei can reach approximately a body length of 30-35 centimetres (12-14 in). The female is smaller and has a much shorter bill. These birds show a combination of a white head, a slightly curved bright red beak and red legs and feet, quite different from other species of the family. The iridescent plumage is dark blue or violet-blu. The wings have a purple-copper luster.
This beautiful White-headed wood-hoopoe is a lifer and was photographed on an early morning bird walk climbing up the slopes of Mt Kenya, Naro Moru, Kenya.

My happy place is.. the lake near my home. However, a photo for this subject was a very hard decision! There are quite a few local places that I consider to be my "happy place". More recently this has become my new happy place.. (or at least in my top 3)!
HOWEVER, PHOTOGRAPHY ITSELF = IS MY HAPPY PLACE!!
On my way home from physical therapy today, (which is going VERY WELL if you're wondering), I asked Juan to stop by the park so I could hop out really quick and take some photos.
& I have to say, photography... taking photos on a very nice day & running back to the car KNOWING that I just took some amazing photos- with a huge smile on my face- jumping up and down, kissing Juan on the cheek and thanking him a hundred times for stopping at the perfect time.. and helping me to capture these great photos ... = That has become my new "favorite drug" or natural high.
I cannot even explain the feeling I get when I take a photo and even more so when I know I just captured some incredible shots... It's actually BETTER than any drug ever was for me.
..You should have seen me today as I was taking the photos and after I was done.. I'm still beaming.
There really is no better feeling in the world , than TAKING A GREAT PHOTO!

The sound of my youth...these GE B23-7s were once everywhere in New England back in my younger days but now the little Fore River is the last bastion. Sure was nice to hear that old 12 cylinder chugga chugga sound again...
Fore River Transportation 102 (blt. in Jul 1978 as CR 1980) is running back to the yard and shop as a caboose hop with FRVT 01R a former Pennsylvania Railroad N5B caboose built in Jun. 1941. The vintage car is owned by a long time Fore River employee and is fully certified with an FRA waiver for use in revenue freight service on the railroad as seen here.
They have just finished switching out the Twin Rivers Technologies plant that is the railroad's only present customer and also the owner of FRVT that is the operator of the railroad on behalf of owner Massachusetts Water Resources. There is extensive parking lot running and even a couple hundred feet on a public road which definitely qualifies this for the 'Trains Where Trains Shouldn't Be Album.'
