Someone came through and was egging this tree. I thought it was a nice representation of human interaction, in this case a form of vandalism, and how the tree was relatively unperturbed. That little fern may even be using the nutrients of the egg to grow!

Hooligan Woodpecker! by stevesasurfer

7th April 2012. Woken yesterday by hammering and banging going on outside, turns out that a woodpecker has decided to break into the bird box! What used to be a small hole for the great tit is now a great big hole! There was a good nest starting inside but not sure what will happen now.
