After the steam rally came the village fayre. Aldeby were holding their fayre in the afternoon, and I had been asked over to get a few photos.
I arrived just as the fayre was opening up. There were a few stalls there including a duck hooking one. I got this close up of the ducks just before they started being hooked...
Picked this up because I was desperate and hoped that this one might be a good one. It has a beautiful orange-amber color that doesn't come through in this pic. Great creamy head as well. Smells of a faint floral hoppiness with some sweetness. Taste is mildly bitter with a slight maltiness and a mean metallic aftertaste. ugh. Very boring and very disapointing. Not worth the effort to drink it.
I'm starting to think that Red Hook has sold out for more more money and greater distro and forsaken good beers and brewing. Sad.
