Some may call my OCD a little on the ridiculous side, but lately I have really been trying to clean, organize, and get the house ready for my fiancé to move in. Whether it's in the house, in the workshop, or working the property, I'm striving to get the place in shape from top to bottom.

Year Seventeen Of My 365 Project
I am not motivated to cook for myself.....rather, I cook for my animals.....and by definition, that puts me in THE OLDER GENERATION.
On the Silestone counter tops I have arrayed three of my favorite small appliances......the Aroma rice cooker, the Cuisinart slow cooker, and above them the awesome Breville toaster oven--my oven of choice for smaller dishes. (I love my Bertazzoni gas range, but seldom use its oven....I could be happy with a gas stovetop, and a separate oven.)
The Silestone is antibacterial, and impermeable to stain or odors.
It does not require any maintenance, unlike granite or marble. I love the soft grayness of its color combined with my earthy yellow ochre walls, always sunny and inviting even of dark days.
Even though I am not much on cooking, the kitchen remains a pivotal center of my homemaking activities. I'm told my placement of the LG washer/dryer combo in the kitchen is a more European choice......the architect who drew the plans wanted a closet for the laundry stuff, but I insisted on it being located on an outside wall for easy venting, avoiding the humidity issues of our very humid Mobile environment.

Oh, so much better. And so much hidden storage!
These are the Billy bookshelves from IKEA (I have the same ones in the living room) with the half panel Olsbo doors. They were super easy to build and put the doors on. And the little Kassett organizing boxes (also from IKEA) were super cheap, easy to assemble, and fit perfectly. Plus, they have little label holders. I can't tell you how much I just love little label holders.
I tried to group things by type, but that got a little messed up after a bit. I'm sure I'll re-organize again sometime, but for now, I'm just doing minor revisions on this in order to move on and get to doing creative stuff!

Children love to use beautiful items in their play. These decorative clips/clothespins are lovely for children to use when they hang their doll clothes on a clothesline after they pretend to wash them. They can clip silks together to create a magical playhouse.
Adults can use them for holding items together or displaying children's artwork. They are great for use in the home or office.
