Haitian Health Foundation has a strong
public health focus. The believe in
educating and promoting communities in
many areas of life including health
care. Much of their community
education is done through mother's
clubs and father's clubs. This week I
attended both with Charlemagne, the
teacher. It reminded me of the
Homemaker's Clubs in the rural areas of
North Dakota. These women learned in
these groups about a variety of things
but more important supported each
other. Here Charlemagne is teaching
the women's clubs about their bodies
and about natural family planning.

Judy Leach, 51, from Ankeny, IA, is a homemaker. She loves to snack on chocolate while she enjoys a good book (though the book is optional). She finds books at garage sales, thrift stores, anywhere she can find a good deal. She likes to read them in order, so if she finds one in a series that looks good, she will wait until she has the ones preceding it before starting to read the series. "I have an entire bookcase filled with books that are yet to be read."

I have a hard time keeping up with cobwebs; I never think about dusting the ceiling corners until I see big cobwebs, yuck. I will put this into my regular housekeeping routine.
Put a piece of an old towel over the broom, old school! My grandmother used to do this.
