Macro Mondays, theme: Currency

Hologram on a Canadian $20 bill - the colors and the lettering emerge when the light hits the hologram at just the right angle.

Hasselblad Makro-Planar f/4, 120 mm, set to f/4. Additional magnification provided by a bellows extension rail. Eight-image focus stack.

A Twenty Swiss Francs (20 CHF) bank note from up close, with its plethora of great-looking but difficult-to-reproduce features...

Taken for the Macro Monday theme 'Paper'

I laid the £10 and £5 notes in the sunlight where the hologram was illuminated

Macro Mondays theme: currency

Canadian $50 features, on the front, a portrait of William Lyon Mackenzie King, the coat of arms, and a picture of the Peace Tower of the Parliament buildings.

The area surrounding the iridescent is transparent.

The Macro Mondays theme for this week is EDC, every day carry. My new permanent driver’s license arrived on Friday so it seemed an appropriate possibility. Since my bag/purse is sort of minimal, there probably won’t be a gazillion possibilities this week. (Interestingly, if you turn the hologram slightly, my initials and birth year show upon the bird’s body.)

Btw, am wondering what type of bird this depicts and if hologram caused you to look at your license to see if yours has a hologram?

Btw2, this hologram is 1.9cm by 2.1cm

…….💙 HMM 💙

Macro Mondays - What is that?

And I'll never go home again.

Favorite friend (and nothing's wrong when nothing's true).

I live in a hologram with you.

This is a small part of a small vase, just 2½ inches across.

I will be away for a while but will catch up ASP!

Happy Friday!

I was just messing about with various ways of incorporating the wheel cover piece and came up with this :) What do you think?

So yeah...

It has begun!

And I am getting better at editing. I think.

6/8/23 - I Am Hologram @ North Forty Beer Company, Roseburg, Oregon, USA

Watching the show, I always got the impression that Jem's secret identity had no actual reason to exist, and was just a pretext to crazy episodes and drama, and to turn Rio insane! lol

But I still like that well-behaved and uptight Jerrica can turn into a glamourous superstar and have tons of fun, doing what she would never normally do.

It totally makes her like a kind of drag queen, with 2 different personas ;)

This is part of an interpretive display at the USFS Coldwater Ridge visitor center at Mount St. Helens. It features a holographic ranger, speaking to an ashen crowd. It's absolutely bizarre. Otherwise the displays and movies shown in the center are very interesting and informative.

Try as I may, it doesn't last. The planet, the environment, nature, animals... and about humans I won't even begin to talk. How is anyone supposed to care about any of that when it all feels so hollow. Like a hologram almost. Not real. Foreign. Distant. When I don't even feel connected to, or at home in my own body, let alone my neighbourhood, my city, my country - the bigger the more remote. As a kid I sometimes wondered if there are places where you just fall through the ground, like when you walk out of bounds in some video games.

That never happened to me so far, but I've seen it happen once or twice to people who accidentally dropped something on the floor and gone it was. A plastic lid, specifically. Disappeared into thin air upon impact on the floor, only to resurface many years later. Right there in the same spot where it could reasonably have landed back then, and where it's completely impossible to miss it.

The more I learn about all sorts of esoteric concepts, the harder does it get to care about the 3D world. In a way, that's just the whole point. Do you care knowing full well there's nothing to care about in reality? Just the bits and bytes of the universe, that your brain renders as you and your surroundings? Well, no. I can pretend I did, at least for a while, but it gets exhausting very quickly. Like being casted for a role that just isn't right for me.

Perhaps that's also why some people advise against looking into esoterics and all that. Calling it dark magic, witchcraft, the devil's work, you name it. Maybe they have a point. But then again, since I looked deeper into that, many things make more sense rather than less. And those that don't make sense, at least I understood why they don't make sense, if that makes any sense.

R2-P2 aka R2-Poop-2, when I saw the legend in Brickjournal (peices made of other pieces) I instantly knew his name. In order to make him I had to make 1x3 bricks out of 1x1 plates and 1x2 plates....etc etc.....

I remember back in the day Jem would play on the USA network in the mornings and I would be mesmerized by her. She was so cool. And I loved singing along to her songs.

A hologram was a three-dimensional visual projection of an object or data, most commonly including maps, technical plans or other information. The type and quality of the holographic image projected varied widely, and holograms could be static or moving, live or recorded, with or without sound, large or small, and colored or monochrome. Many of these attributes were determined by the quality of the original recording or broadcast, as well as the holoprojector being used to display it.

Holograms were used for many different purposes, including entertainment, military planning, or political speeches, and as such touched the lives of nearly every being in the galaxy. Members of the Jedi High Council dispatched to missions on remote worlds could regularly participate in Council meetings held at the Jedi Temple by appearing as holograms.
