Celebrating 18 years of excellence and innovation! Eighteen years ago, a vision was born - a vision of creating an #institution that would not just impart #education but nurture intellect, character, and leadership. we celebrate the realization of that vision and the countless individuals who have contributed to its fulfillment.
ADT has the best interests of the next generation at the heart of its projects. These children of the rural Iluppadichchenai community in Batticaloa have many reasons to smile; they receive nutritious meals, their pre-school was renovated, they have access to water and ADT is also ensuring that their village receives holistic development.
What's not to smile about?
It's been nearly eight years since Global Brigades started working in the Ekumfi District of Central Region in Ghana. Since then, we've now added Abura Asebu Kwamankese (AAK) District as the second District in Ghana to benefit from our Holistic Model!
By collaborating with existing public and private organisations in Ghana, we've build a successful medical program that leverages existing healthcare infrastructure for primary health care by Ghana health services, local healthcare professionals, and GB volunteers.
The AKK District is one of the biggest in Central Region with the estimated population of 126,313 in 132 communities, served by 24 facilities and a district hospital. Each of these facilities benefits more than 5 communities.
Global Brigades currently work with four of these facilities and are happy to report that a record number of 2,126 patients were treated for free in our first week of work with Tuakwa, Ayeldo, Gyabankrom and Nyanfreku Ekroful facilities!
With the growing presence of volunteers with GB Ghana, we look forward to making a huge impact on healthcare and sustainable development in the AAK District in the coming years!

During these uncertain times, school and parents must work in tandem to ensure that the little ones don't get affected. Virtual interaction with parents of Nursery was held today. The communication focussed on maintaining a schedule for the young children, ensuring that they practice the material shared by the school daily and keep in touch with their teachers. Parents were encouraged to share their anxieties and doubts with the academic team. The entire interaction was fruitful as both of them pledged to work together to make a positive impact in the lives of the little ones.
