The interesting thing about this bike is that there are no forks. There is a bearing in the center of the hub and the steering connects directly to it.
It rides very nicely (I've had a go) and is a carbon-fiber work of art.

Although called magic lanterns, these ingenious items were not often billed as being magic. These inventions, such as the Newton Biunial Lantern and the McAllister Lantern Kit, created special effects and illusions by projecting images onto light-colored walls or white cloth hangings. Often a hurdy-gurdy or other musical instruments would accompany the pictures, forming a visual story. These magical lanterns were the precursor to the slide projector.
See these magic lanterns in Magic! a new exhibition exploring the history of this secret art with fascinating artifacts and mesmerizing live performances.

Magic! will be on display at HMNS through Sept. 6, 2010.

On October 27, 2016 Rolling Roadshow celebrated Austin's parks and the season of witches with a special showing of Hocus Pocus benefiting Austin Parks Foundation!
Much more than the typical Movie in the Park, this event was a true Halloween Spelltacular featuring Westen Broghesi as DJ Skellyton. He hosted a Halloween dance party in the park filled with pre-movie activities like:
- Broom Races
- Photo Opps
- Food Trucks featuring spooky treats
- A Candy Corn Wading Pool by Big Top Candy Shop where guests actually lied down in 700 pounds of candy corn.
Before the movie we hosted a costume contest with special prizes for child and adult categories, and had a virgin light our black flame candle.

Probably the most well-known magician today, Ehrich Weiss read Robert-Houdin’s autobiography at an early age and changed his own name to Harry Houdini. He was a skilled lock-picker and used his talents to perform seemingly impossible escape tricks. He would escape upside-down from a straitjacket, vanish from the inside of a locked milk can full of water, or disappear from a locked trunk.
Houdini spent much of his career debunking so-called psychics, explaining how their talents were really simple parlor tricks. He wrote several books explaining the principles behind magic and exposing people with supposed unnatural powers.
See many of Houdini's famous illusions in Magic! a new exhibition exploring the history of this secret art with fascinating artifacts and mesmerizing live performances.

Willamina went to The Colourful Halloween art expedition to see the portrait done of her. A good friend had asked her to model and she was in a good mood that day so she agreed. She thought her friend was doing the Beautiful Black piece but when she got there she saw she had entered her as the Pretty Pink piece. Willamina was so delighted, her favourite colour was pink! She was also pleased to see she looked quite nice in the portrait. Her friend had even put in her cat. After she had a look around she went, feeling most happy. She thought she may stop by her friend’s house and thank her, her friend was sure to be home having only been there for the opening.

Happy Petrifying Pink Halloween Tuesday!
Sorry, the idea I got wasn't and isn't scary. Not the best shot but I'm pretty happy with it.
I made the scrapbooking page pictured and the little clay witch. I just managed to get her done today and then I dropped her hat! Luckily I was able to glued it back together.
I think I'll made more little witches!
Built in the 1720s, part of the historic Chestnut District of Salem, Massachusetts.
Used as the home of Allison in the 1993 movie "Hocus Pocus".
