Is this the main entrance or the back entrance of IFC Mall?

The Peak is so dramatic and tall, and it forced up so much moisture from the ocean surface rises and cools and formed permanent cloud.

I had a lot of fun at this place. It got crowded but people seemed nice. I ended up helping a new photographer with his gears and grabbed him a good spot to setup tripod. Meet some new friends as well.

The Peak, Hong Kong

My Uber driver missed a turn or two coming up to the Peak because it's dark in the early mornings. I had fun talking to him.

I like the what would normally be a place filled with obnoxious tourists to be completely empty

The Peak, Hong Kong

Been to the Peaks a few times in 2017, 2019... but none turned out to be good. You gotta come in summer to get good visibility.

Undoubtedly, the most photographed site out of the whole of Hong Kong. Kinda boring really, however, just couldn't resist once i am up there.

Truly an amazing sight. One of the most beautiful harbour cities in the world. At least the ones I've been to.

I didn't have my D70/s. So, I borrowed my hubby's Sony C PS. The view was spectacular.

The view of Victoria Harbour, with Hong Kong Island to the south, and Kowloon to the north. All this, against a backdrop of mountainous terrain, and low lying clouds. Without a doubt, Hong Kong has one of the most beautiful (and photogenic) skylines in the world. Simply breathtaking.

This was the twenty-first day of our 23 day Vancouver-China-HK trip this past September, in Hong Kong.

This photo was the highlight of the Hong Kong leg of the trip and I was looking forward to it every day all week. The photo is of the Hong Kong Island side of Victoria Harbour from Braemar Hill. It took about 30 minutes to hike from Fortress Hill Station to this location only to find a bus stop at the very top but it was worth it. Each flight of stairs was exciting to get to the top and made the CN Tower Stair Climb seem like a breeze. There's something about stair climbing that seems to be twice as effective burning the fat as plain running. Anyways, thanks goes to hkskyline on www.skyscrapercity.com/ for posting this thread & this thread for the concepts and Flickr member paulatomic for the directions to get there.

This photoshoot clearly demonstrated the importance of quality gear. I was probably carrying over $4,500 worth of body, lenses & tripod but cheaped out on the tripod head (second hand for about $40-70). That particular day of this shoot, standing on the very crest of one of the peaks, there was a constant wind of over 50km/h and the vibration was horrendous. Later that night, the wind was even worse at Victoria Peak with the observation deck being an artificial shelf and thus gusts to add to the 60 km/h winds. I was using a Manfrotto 484RC2, which the only thing going for it is it's small. Next trip... a RRS head for sure. But for now, it was a 1sec, ƒ/8, ISO-200 exposure.

Another 'to die for' view in HK: view of the HK harbour and waterfront as seen from the Avenue of Stars on the Tsim Tsa Tsui waterfront. I did not venture further due to the biting cold, strong winds and the ever prevalent haze. Lucky it was only a haze, it had been downright foggy all morning. At any rate, I was recovering from a red eye flight, and decided to put it off for another day. Unfortunately, that 'other day' never came, as I had my hands full with sightseeing plans. Day 3 - Hazy Day @ The Peak

God has blessed me with a chance to travel with my family to Hong Kong for a few days of rest and vacation. God is good. =)

Work and play. An architectural contrast between residential and office skyscrapers, reflected from the hotel window.

Another view spoilt by the biting cold, haze and fog: HK Island as seen from Tsim Tsa Tsui promenade. The wave shaped building you see dead centre is the HK Convention and Exhibition Centre. Hong Kong, Jan/ Feb. 2012.

One of Kowloon's landmark, the Tsim Sha Tsui bus terminal, at the heart of the shopping district in Hong Kong.

Sadly, the Hong Kong goverment has in its plan, for the terminal to be demolished, to make way for commercial development. Truly a heritage, that will soon be lost.

Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong

It is a challenge shooting landscapes together with the family, especially if you are doing long exposure. What I did? Look for a nearby Starbucks so the wife and kids can enjoy the coffee and free wifi respectively.

Can't have enough of this walkway to the Ocean Terminal... simply amazing view!!!

The Star Ferry terminal.

Literally under the weather, during this humid summer, where typhoon is particularly common in Hong Kong.
