Share Our Strength's Hinges of Hope Chef's Tour was held at the newly opened St. Joseph Center's culinary training facility in Venice, CA, this past March. The facility was built with funds from Taste of the Nation and will provide free child care and nutrition to impoverished pre-schoolers and toddlers. Its culinary training program will also give free job training to disadvantaged adults so they can seek work in the food and beverage industry.

Chefs on tour for this Hinges of Hope stop were Mary Sue Milliken, Fred Eric, Akasha Richmond, Jill Davie, Kazuto Matsusaka and Evan Kleiman.

Bedroom door off its hinges. Almost all teh woodwork was untouched, except in teh bath and kitchen.

I saw these hinges on the front door of the Ray house. If you look closely, you can see where the hinge broke. It was tacked together. I wonder if the Park Service is aware of the break?

I used four nickel hinges from Lowes ( about $1.15 a piece) to allow the doors to swing all the way out. Ikea's sunken hinges have limited swinging range.

Right hand carbon steel hinges are widely used in various commercial as well as residential applications.

I had to take photos of everything that needs to be repaired at this church. The main door is something that needs repairing, and i think i got a few nice shots off it
