Our Daily Challenge - Hinge - April 11

Micro shot #1.

Micro and Macro photography assignment to create a series of images based on the University of Ulster campus in Belfast.

A while ago I did Headlight Bricks: A Study, where I went on a path of self-discovery to find out neat ways to use headlight bricks. Now, I'm doing the same with hinges. Before you comment saying that people have already discovered this technique, please know that I am on a path of self-discovery and am not claiming any of these techniques as new

Well, here's the first thing that popped into my head. It reminds me of a jet turbine for some reason. What do you think it looks like?

I bought this in South Korea in 1981. Was trying to decide what to shoot for hinged, and glanced over and saw this! ODC: hinged

I think this just might be my favorite of Saturday's rusty close-ups on the facade of the old building near Kinards, SC. It looks more like art to me than any of the other rusty close-ups I shot that day.

A flagstone / hinged version of the famous Cairo Tessellation.

for 7DoS: one of the old hinges in the doors of the capitol building in Austin, Texas. They now have more secure fittings as they were apparently, proving to be popular souvenirs!

I saw stenertje's spiffy little ship and just felt like playing with click hinge stacks. alternating types gives a very plesent slow curve. I'm sure there's tons of variations that can be applied here.

On the church door at Strata Florida, in Wales. One of two hinges.

for 7DoS: I think it's easier for me to centre my subject in the square format :)

There are a lot of different ways to do half-timber construction with lego, and it’s interesting to try them out

I’m doing much to keep improving:

Occupational Therapy to compensate for my severe hand tremors,

Speech Therapy to help with my speech impediment and my memory issues,

Physical Therapy for my walking disability. I’ve gone from only being able to walk 2 blocks to almost 1 km and I am now able to walk backwards, a very short distance, without my cane (slowly, of course).

As a person in my support group stated:

“Big doors swing on small hinges.”
