Went to Hillhead and when standing at the bridge looking into Titchfield Haven was rewarded by this little character in front of me for 2 glorious minutes. Male Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) and no passers by came and scared it away!

A larger gallery on the hillside than I expected for this, all of whom were thankful to local sun whisperer Frank Richards, who let 66742 out of Hillhead at just the right time to see a pesky patch of cloud slip by first.

This mural by Scottish artist Fraser Gray covers the side of a two storey house in the Hillhead area of Kirkintilloch. It commemorates the line of the Antonine Wall, which crossed roughly from the Clyde to the Forth, across Scotland, marking the northern extent of the Roman Empire, alluding to artefacts unearthed by archaeologists over the years. The current town cross, on a hill nearby, was a major fortification on the Wall.
