We caught the opening of Mark Warren Jacques solo show entitled "I'm Here Now" at Gallery Hijinks and were please with the quality and thoughtfulness that each work presented.
Jacques takes the viewer on an inward journey filled with colorful patternwork and interesting subject matter, that both enlightens and delights.

In Jacques own words:
"There is a deeply rooted part of who I am that connects to, and in turn collects all this beauty I happen upon in the world. I draw from this collection every time I sit to paint. I feel inspired to insert my own vision into this narrative, to put the collection in order, so that I may create my story - a story that brings history close but is alive with new possibilities."
The show runs October 16th - November 15th 2010 at Gallery Hijinks:
Friday night geocaching hijinks. Here, the BFL Crew is attempting to cross part of 16 Mile Creek after a successful cache hunt. Jeff-Trex is in the lead, and Baker’s Dozen (Ron) is offering to help Jeff along his way. Today was a great day looking for geocaches, munzees and photos. It was a little difficult to pick the photo for the day but in the end I’d say this one captures the sprit of the day’s fun the most.

I met Peter Gronquist about a year ago and immediatly connected to this out-of-the-box thinker and artist. Gronquist is well known for his Gucci rocket launchers, chain saws, and other art works that feature high end brand names on weapons of destruction. No stranger to utilyzing taxidermy in his works, where animal's horns have been replaced by gold plated AK-47s, Gronquist continues to juxtapose luxury with nature while bringing up questions about money, culture, and society.

It's difficult to enjoy your yummy stash of apples with Sophia and her daddy obviously planning on stealing them. Just look at them, plotting ways to take Matilda's apples as we speak!

Back on the cart, Matilda is noticeably shocked when some rude kid comments on how ripe her apples are.

Although we're currently busy preparing for our upcoming Warhol Reimagined show at Project One gallery, we made sure to check out the amazing ensemble of talented artists participating in Gallery Hijinks group show entitled "The Letter Collector".
Hijinks states that "The Letter Collector is curated with the intention to exhibit both emerging and established artists in one massive group show based on the common love of type and script. Stemming from immensely different backgrounds, each artist creates their unique translation of a letter in the alphabet. The viewer will experience an assortment of letters expressed through a range of mediums: drawing, painting, photography, neon, wood, relief sculpture, and mixed media. "

What's worse than finding a worm in your apple?
Finding half a worm.
What's worse than finding half a worm in your apple?
Finding no worm, because that means you've eaten the whole worm!
