I was riding home at the end of June from a bicycle trip to Waterford, and there were some grads and parents in the park taking photos. This little park is Brantford's "flower power" park, with formal beds that are changed every year.

She sewed this dance costume with satin and denim. She used the satin which has Japanese traditional pine needle pattern on it, cause it is regarded as an amulet or a charm against bad luck. She hope corona converges and hope to dance again strongly! Of course, It’s our wish too!

We are enduring to Covid-19 for more than one year. It's so long, but our live goes on with covid.. Well, when I took this portrait, this student had the mask which was decorated by her. I thought it was nice idea and so beautiful.

I took this photo four years ago. But I hadn't been printing it. Lately, I found it again, and I printed. I think the print was going well with my new photographic paper.
このショットは４年前のものです。しかし、それ以来ずっとプリントすることはありませんでした。最近これを再発見し、プリントしてみたという訳です。プリントは新しい印画紙によって上手くいったと思います。
Today, several Minneapolis high schools left around noon and marched to Minneapolis City Hall, in solidarity with the victims and survivors of the Florida school shooting.
I was heartened at the turnout and the number of students who volunteered to go to the state capitol on March 24th and speak to their elected officials. As might be expected, the students showed more passion and concern than any state legislator I've seen, heard or met. I will be there on March 24th when all these young people will move the legislators out of their perennial lassitude.
I was about to leave, when saw this little young woman with a sign bigger than her. And the question on it, that should weigh on everyone of us.

She looks like a kindergarten student, cause it seems a childish smock which she wore. But she was just a high school student! Actually she was always wearing it when she was drawing a painting. So her smock is covered with colors of paint.
彼女の着ているスモックのおかげで見た目は幼稚園児のようです。しかし彼女は高校生です。実は、絵を描く時にいつもこの作業着を着ていたのです。お陰で作業着は絵具まみれです。

Photographic paper is a very important factor for expression of photograph. I have my favorite photo paper, but I can't get it in my country... I have to thank you for the internet age, cause I can import it from Europe!

I took this portrait five years ago but I hadn't made it print until recently. One day I tried to print it and it came. Actually, I met him after printing, as if I remember him!

It was a Tuesday in early spring, the kind of day when the sun slants just right through the classroom blinds, casting long shadows across drafting tables and half-finished shop projects. The scent of sawdust lingered in the air, mingling with the faint tang of oil and adolescent ambition.
That afternoon, a man arrived—Salvatore “Sonny” Romano, Ford’s youngest design prodigy, dressed in a crisp suit. He carried a leather suitcase, scuffed at the corners, and inside: sketches of dream machines, swooping silhouettes, and a block of industrial clay wrapped in wax paper.
He spoke not like a salesman, but like a sculptor. “A fender,” he said, pressing his thumb into the clay, “should curve like a cheekbone. A tailfin—like the wing of a bird banking into twilight.” The students watched, rapt, as Sonny coaxed a coupe from the clay, each gesture a whisper of possibility.
Young Loren stood quietly at the edge, absorbing every line, every metaphor. The next day, he bought his own clay—cheap, crumbly, not quite right—and cleared space on his desk between comic books and science kits. He sculpted late into the evening, lit by a desk lamp and the flicker of imagined headlights.
What emerged wasn’t perfect. The lines wobbled, the proportions strained. But it had presence. It had velocity. It had longing. He called it the Ford Romeo—a name that felt like a secret handshake between elegance and emotion.
Though I’ve changed a couple names, the story is based on true events. Loren was the son of our high school principal. His clay model occupied a place of honor in our high school from 1958 until its closing in 1974, replaced by a regional high school miles away. While Loren’s dream car may have vanished from sight, it never vanished from memory. Fifty years later, I was able to approximate a picture of the car for a school reunion with the help of Bing Copilot.
[Note: During the 1950s–60s, industrial arts programs in American high schools flourished. Car companies sometimes partnered with these programs, sending representatives or materials to encourage careers in automotive design. Clay modeling was seen as a tactile way to teach form, proportion, and industrial design. Some schools received kits or materials from manufacturers, and a few lucky students got to see professional sculptors in action.]

They has interesting ideas, and try it sometimes. This shoot was born in that situation. Both girls had been learning ballet dance, so they were able to dance with holding cleaning tools in their hands. I caught just it!

She is a fine painter and is also my student! This shot was inspired from her painting. She usually compile objects on a table, and she is watching carefully those objects to draw a picture. So my theme was just it!
