The first of a series of captures of the visually enrapturing interior spaces of the Experimental Music Project Museum (EMP) in Seatle. Only the singular genius of Fank Gerhy and his architectural team could generate such an extraordinary collage of shapes and colours - and yet create a Museum in which the 'flow of spaces and space of flows' works so beautifully.

The rails supporting the Alweg Monorail; in Seattle. This, and the set to which it belongs, was made under the influence of the great, inspirational, 20th Century photographer, Germaine Krull.I would like this set to serve as my own very modest tribute to her breathtaking, pioneering work. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germaine_Krull, www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2015/jun/04/germaine-kru...

one of my favourite peices of toronto, hidden in the wilds of high park, one of three high modernist sculptures, the scale, colour variation, and rythym of this peice was really strong, and the site placement, with the yellow and those green green trees is something that was carefully considered. marred by some graff, but not too much.

(Menashe Kadishman, "Three Discs", 1967, done for the international sculpture pavillion that year, thanks simple posie)

My entry for day 205 of the 2009photochallenge; the theme for the day was modern.

The modernist apartment tower is Peregrine House, designed by Franck & Deeks and completed in 1969. It is about 80m high, with 27 floors. In front is a Victorian (c.1884) public house now named No. 32, although it was previously Jack Beard's, and prior to that The Oakley Arms. Hall Street, London Borough of Islington.

Architects: Franck & Deeks, 25-storey modernist apartment block completed 1967 and sister building to Peregrine House (previous in my stream...). The underside of the curved concrete porch is clad in red mosaic tile. Finsbury Estate, London Borough of Islington.

obv not the real title, i think its painted steel, but no notice of artist or material. the peice is about 60 feet tall, and almsot looks like its tottering.

Martin Luther King Jr. day was quiet in downtown Los Angeles.

People milled about, and the sun did the same.

I suppose I will eventually, but I don't like to dwell on it...

The De Le Warr Pavilion, crown of Bexhill on Sea - I'm astonished there isn't an orderly-queue-of/unseemly-scuffles-between people waiting to photograph this light fixture. Even though there weren't, I bet I'm not the first person to take this somehow...
