Hierarchie - Hierarchy - Detail (1937)

The image displayed illustrates 6 crowns that become progressively more elaborate as they move from left to right. This is an example of hierarchy, the relationship between the crowns is visible as they all use the same base colors but the number of ornaments on the crowns increase in number. Upon first appearance a viewer would easily be able to understand the hierarchy.

The genealogy diagram is a classic example of organization in the tree model. In fact the diagram is typically referred to as the ‘family tree’. The relationship of literal parents to children objects flows from the top to bottom. Members in each row are in a generation of their own, distinct from their parents or children. This allows the viewer to quickly determine the relationship between the many objects on the page.

we were showing the photos to T. and M. yesterday and W. mentioned that we should have got rid of the clamps on the ladder. I don't know why I didn't think of it during the shoot, but it's not that big of a deal. The photo session was very spontaneous. I just pulled this ladder out of the wings and we ended up getting some nice shots from different angles on the ladder, like this one of W.'s.
societies need for downtrodden classes
to catergorize and stigmatize the lowly masses
to attain their modicum of success
gives humanity the need to others depress
