I was considering selling my 85mm due to money shortage, but after comparing these two shots I took with the two different lenses - Hell no...
Notice how the flowers in focus look about the same size but that the flowers in the back seem much closer on the shot with the 85mm (left).
Also, the bokeh is circular on the 85mm while more hexagonshaped on the 50mm.
I suppose each serve their purposes, but I'm definitivly keeping the 85mm... and the 50mm for that matter. They are both awesome lenses, and I'm extremely satisfied with them both.
The full moon the other night with a halo, or ring, with Jupiter the little dot next to it (apparently). Lunar halos are caused by refraction, reflection, and dispersion of light through ice particles suspended within thin, wispy, high altitude cirrus or cirrostratus clouds. As light passes through these hexagon-shaped ice crystals, it is bent at a 22 degree angle, creating a halo 22 degrees in radius (or 44 degrees in diameter).”

Check out the hornet's nest below the huge leaf of a plant. The hornets use the mud and saliva to ensure that the concrete is ready for building the structures in which their babies will develop.
These nest are stuck with the leaf at a very narrow point. These then balloon out like umbrellas and have many hexagonal chambers, possibly one chamber for each of the hornet larva. Since the hexagon is one of the stablest and optimal shape when it comes to tiling multiple entities, the bees and hornets make use of hexagonal shape to construct their nests. Both the hornet parents work hard day-in and day-out to construct the nest.
There are instances where a colony of hornets construct a huge apartment-like structure and share the duty of safeguarding the community nest.
Here, both parents were checking out the intruder (me and my camera) and once they were comfortable, they went about doing their construction duty.

It's a well worth of a sore neck process in this project. Undertaking 3 years to explore and documentation of the street lighting design. The distinct design of bulb fusion with various element to beautify it. At the same time creating a light source to light up the frontage or act as a guiding path to walk safely in the dim.
Human have the tendency to look at various direction without, hardly looking up unless necessary. During the photography process it was a wonderful insight to discover so many patterns, shapes and colors that are mounted on the ceiling, waiting to be discover. As time elapse, how many of these would survive when new design is featured in future.

It spoke aloud to me as I approached it: "I am a drop inlet structure. During severe flood events, excess water can overtop me — instead of overtopping the nearby dam! I will safely move the excess water to a channel underneath the dam." Its voice resembled that of a very cheerful female presenter on an educational television programme for children.
Online I found a picture of this drop inlet structure getting ready to almost need to get used in 2013.
I have also been reading that the dam and the hexagonal concrete drop inlet structure were built 1967-1971.
