One secret of mine that today I have decided to share with you all on flickr for the sake of the spirit of a great actor and man, who passed away on April 4th 2008.
This personal story goes back to Easter Sunday 2006. It was a beautiful and warm evening as I sat to check my e mails.
I received a most heart warming and moving e mail from Mr Charlton Heston. The e mail is something so personal and moving and special to me so I wont reveal the e mails contents, but basically he Thanked me for my support and healing, that I had touched him deeply with something I had discussed with him. He felt his illness was a challenge that he would overcome with our and his family and friends help and Gods grace and told me to "fear not".
I am not prepared to reveal more only to say he took his time when he was at one stage, very poorly, and even then in his confusion took time to write to me and to thank me for the work I did.
Sadly his illness took his physical life force as will all illnesses to all of us here on earth: We all have to face the inevitable.
My e mail was framed . For a while I had it placed in my home, now I keep it in a safe place as it is something to cherish all the days of my life.
And to receive an e mail from someone who played the part of Moses, and to receive it on Easter Sunday was something very emotional to me.
Heres to a Man. A Man who gave his life who not only played the greatest roles on the big screen, but to a kind warm and loving gentle-man whose faith in God remained all of his days.
May God Bless you Charlton and may your new life in Gods world be as wonderful as it has been in this. Peace and great joy, Ed .
Originally called Mayes' Corners after Matthew Mayes opened a blacksmith in 1835. In 1857, Valentine Smith established a sawmill west of Mayes' Corner near the Galena River. It burned in 1862. In 1865, the Christian Church established a congregation in this area with Rev. Caleb Davis leading the congregation, before he moved to Michigan. P.M. Hess came to the township in 1856 from New York and began farming. He ran a sawmill and operated a store, contributing his name to the location. A post office was established at Hesston in 1877, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1900. The community was named for P. M. Hess, an early settler.
