Was just clearing out my LR library and found this…it was taken last year during her wedding.

A little info…

'Mehndi also known as henna, in the western world it is the application or temporary form of skin decoration. mehndi is typically applied during special occasions like weddings and festivals. According to Hindu tradition, the ceremony is mainly held at the bride's house or at a banquet hall on the eve of the marriage ceremony or few days before the marriage. A professional mehndi artist or a relative applies mehndi to the bride's hands and feet. The designs are very intricate. Often hidden within the mehndi pattern the name or initials of the groom are applied'

a friend of mine who runs a successful (wedding) cupcake business made a proposition i couldn't refuse! she asked me to decorate her cake (covered with white fondant) with arabic/moroccan patterns. how can i say no to that? heh. anyhoos, i know the pattern is rather simple and basic, but it looks quite lovely on the cake. i opted for a no 3 wilton nozzle so that the pattern will stand out nicely, even from far. my friend decorated the top of the cake with fresh red roses and 2 white, plump feather plumes.

the final setup looks gorgeous! the cake is perched atop the highest tier of a 4 tier stand, surrounded by cute cupcakes with white frosting and little red hearts. i'll post a pic of that once she emails them to me.

I did this design for another client who is undergoing a chemotherapy. It seems to me that instead of waering a wig a hennapainting on a bald head will become fashionable.

My new client like peacocks and therefore I created for her this design.

In the moment I have a client who is undergoing a chemo-cancer-treatmend. Instead of waering a wig she want that I henna her bald head. This was my first proposition, but she wanted a design with big flowers. She loves in particular hibiskus and so i created for her another design in which the hibiskus is prominent.

This henna-mehndi design belongs to a serie, I created out of khidab paintings i saw in Yemen 2006.
