AKA Hemp, hamppu (fin).

"This Bud's For You."

Hemp string wrapped around a tensioning toggle on a Marples bow saw. The saw frame is in the shape of an H. Across the bottom of the H is the location of the saw blade and across the top is the string, wound tight with the toggle. The toggle is kept tight by slipping it down a bit, to rest on the stretcher (horizontal) piece of the frame.

Where the tension is now, a pluck of the blade will emit a sound similar to a low guitar note.

The total size of the saw is 16 inches by 12 high with 4 inch handles extending out each side.

This image is two inches wide.

Fortunately, the manufacturer already did a creative job with this ball of hemp cord.

1 teaspoonful sprinkled on cereal, yoghurt and salad or blended into a smoothie. Part of my daily healthy diet.

Hemp hearts typically contain 33 percent protein, 9 percent omega-3 essential fatty acids, and are an excellent source of iron, vitamin E and GLA (gamma-linolenic acid), an Omega-6 fatty acid. Omega-3 fatty acids are particularly beneficial to the brain, skin, joints and heart and Omega-6, such as GLA, is important to hair, skin and bone health.

HMM!

Macro Mondays: Staying Healthy

Several people have asked if I plan to use marijuana for my glaucoma. There are currently eleven states that allow this and Illinois is not one. I doubt if I would be tempted if it was legal! By the way, this is actually hemp, known around here as ditchweed. I'm told it used to be grown to make rope. Now it grows wild anywhere that doesn't get mowed regularly. Pressure is higher in my left eye and I have more eye drops that are supposed to help, but nothing for pain. Thanks For Prayer!

Since the completion the Corbett Diversion Dam and its outlet the Garland Canal in 1908, the agricultural area around Powell Wyoming has produced crops of sugar beets, alfalfa, barley, oats, corn and beans. In recent years sunflowers and millet has been added to crop rotations. Every now and then a new crop arrives making people who drive by the fields say “what’s that?” This year, people have been noticing a field with a crop that looks sort of familiar, hemp. The first commercial hemp crop in the Powell area was planted in early June on 35 acres just west of Powell by Mother’s Hemp Farms. Area papers report another 102 were sown near Deaver . The crop will reportedly be used for CBD and CBG production. (No smoking allowed, besides, this crop tests below 0.3% THC, the main psychoactive chemical in marijuana).
