Where we sign out cases with the attending at the VA. We also do Hemepath Clinical Path when you are on CP every Thursday at 3PM.
The residents sit here. I am on blood bank so I use the desk with the green jacket. If you are on elective you use the desk on the left. The month I was there Ameera, one of our chiefs did an elective in Hemepath. If you are on Anatomic Path you use the desk on the right (pepsi bottle)
Crystals arising in within a high grade B-cell lymphoma (called DLBCL on account of B-cell markers). Positive plasmacytic markers could incline the diagnosis towards plasmablastic lymphoma. The crystals are square or rectangular in shape, staining homogeneously with eosin, as proteins often do. The patient had a paraprotein, so the crystals are some form of immunoglobulin precipitation. Giant cells and macrophages can also be seen trying to phagocytize them.
