Outbound Keolis/MBTA train 403 cruises west headed to Wachusett from North Station as they pass through HILLS interlocking on Main 1 at MP 17.7 on the Fitchburg Line. This location is just west of the Lincoln station on this once important Boston and Maine freight route that now sees only commuter trains. F40PH-3C 1025 is passing GP40MC 1137 that is marooned on the set out spur. It suffered a traction motors fire the prior day and are awaiting the wreck crew to arrive with the crane and an idler axle so the offending wheel set can be removed and the it can be safely towed back to BET for evaluation and repair.

I rarely produce something like this, but here is my attempt which required more PS work than usual.

They look like Shovelers, but the beak colour is wrong and the female's dark chestnut head too............drawn a blank.
KCSM 4067 leads train CP 375 through the woods at South Haven and prepares to cross the Clearwater River. This location helps out for early afternoon westbounds as the tracks swing heavily to the south. We have been seeing a lot of KCS power out here, making shooting on this sub more interesting again.
I was in Nashville preparing to leave for NYC the next day. I walked out of the Wal-Mart in West Nashville and the guy on the left asks a favor of me. He has a broken down car, leaky radiator and needs some money for fluid. He then proceeds to tell me the reason he has no money is because his wallet was stolen at a rest stop on the way from Knoxville, TN to Nashville. The reason he even came to Nashville was because his brothers amputated leg was infected. He then continued to tell me that his car was also out of gas. He offered his Fossil watch his son gave him and whatever tools he had. Instead I took him inside Wal-Mart and got some fluid for him. Then we went to the gas station and filled their car up. He got my address to send me the money I lent but honestly I just wanted a photograph. So. Here it is.
Great Blue Heron and Red-winged Blackbird.
It looks like the Blue Heron is calling for help. The Blackbird kept chasing the Blue Heron up and down the canal. Wherever the Blue Heron landed the Blackbird would come in for the attack. I watched them for 10 minutes or so until the Blue Heron finally flew off.

Ex B&O caboose, no couplers, no trucks, sits close to Martins in Connellsville, Pa. A friend from the area says it also used to be a store that sold CD's. It's in sad shape now.

The stray utility pole which blocks the 2061's cab a bit was once a part of the old code line for WM's block signal system through here. The main is now dark territory with little use for the utility poles that supported it and so as the cross arms rotted and fell off one by one, the pole remained. It is now serving a different purpose supporting a bluebird house which has been mounted on the south side about 4-5 feet from the ground.
