We are at Grammy's house this weekend and Thanksgiving dinner preparations are underway today, and Jane is underfoot the whole time. So far she has scored some canned pumpkin for the Pumpkin Pie being made.

I was in Nashville preparing to leave for NYC the next day. I walked out of the Wal-Mart in West Nashville and the guy on the left asks a favor of me. He has a broken down car, leaky radiator and needs some money for fluid. He then proceeds to tell me the reason he has no money is because his wallet was stolen at a rest stop on the way from Knoxville, TN to Nashville. The reason he even came to Nashville was because his brothers amputated leg was infected. He then continued to tell me that his car was also out of gas. He offered his Fossil watch his son gave him and whatever tools he had. Instead I took him inside Wal-Mart and got some fluid for him. Then we went to the gas station and filled their car up. He got my address to send me the money I lent but honestly I just wanted a photograph. So. Here it is.

Great Blue Heron and Red-winged Blackbird.
It looks like the Blue Heron is calling for help. The Blackbird kept chasing the Blue Heron up and down the canal. Wherever the Blue Heron landed the Blackbird would come in for the attack. I watched them for 10 minutes or so until the Blue Heron finally flew off.

I’ve been very busy today, still trying to sort out all the things I’ve put aside and the chaos I’ve allowed to grow around me. Today it was the turn of financial things, sort out all the credit card transactions from over the past 3 months, along with other things, and update my accounts. Last time I did this in July I said I would not leave it so long, do it weekly maybe, but of course there was always something else to do. At least that’s sorted for now, and I can turn my thoughts to other things of which there are plenty! I think I need a bit of magic to help me - maybe Merlin, or my friend Hadie Potter!!!

So I'll leave you with a little bit of Finnegan shenanigans! :-)
Dad's going in the hospital for a few days (I swear we're taking turns lol) He needs a neck artery cleared out...but they say if all goes as planned he should only be a day or two as an in-patient. But I have to help him pack and get ready etc...(the VA hosp is in another city) then there's recovery time. So I'll not have much time to comment or make responses for a little bit.
It's hard to pull myself away! I've come to love Flickr and the WONDERFUL friends I've met here so much!!!! Thank you all, and I hope to be back very soon :-).

Couldn't help but be force inspired for this one. Started with the wings and finally found a solid way for them to open and stay on the fighter.

Etta helping David get the train working around the bottom of the Christmas Tree.
Norfolk Southern SD40-2 3346 and three roster mates (all former Conrail) were shoving hard on an eastbound coal train in Cresson back in 2005. The bags of ice on the front porch were being kept cold for post-shove drinks.
NS 3346 was built in 1977 as Conrail 6387 and was assigned to the Altoona helper pool for many years before being retired and sold as scrap.
66301, working the 4M36 Daventry – Wentloog ‘Tesco Express’, heads along the Severn Estuary at Purton catching the last of the evening’s sunshine.
Taken at Chalky Beach, Swansea Heads, NSW, Australia. The timing just caught the suspended water some of which is backlit by the rising sun.
The rock structures here are varied and complex and help make a variety of compositions possible.
